Name your top 3 worst......

Albums
Songs
Bands

My picks:

Any album or song by these crappy 'worst of the 80's' bands - New Kids on the Block, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Menudo, all Michael Jackson stuff after "Thriller"......and probably alot more just give me time to think about it.

Love to all!

Gunner Girl, I will let you slide on your slam of Debbie Gibson. She was always my little secret. Imagine the guy with the Motley Crue shirt having the Debbie Gibson OUT OF THE BLUE cd in his collection.

ANYHOW, worst bands of the 80s:
3. Fleetwood Mac a prime example of "HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN"
2. Swing Out Sister: with a name like that, you knew they would suck.
1. Milli Vanilli UM, anybody NOT know why?

songs:
3 WHISPER TO A SCREAM by Icicle works. I always hated that song.
2.I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW by Tiffany. take a song that was not too good in the 60s, and redo it with a girl who cant sing, put her in acid washed jeans, and make a video of her in a black sweater, walking around the beach. WTF WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?!?!?!?!
1. WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO-GO by Wham!
SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOO, sorry about that.
These are my choices, what do you think?

Settle down there Jasper! No need to get your knickers in a knot.

Songs:
Breakout - Swing Out Sister
We Are The World - I prefer Live Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas Time myself.
Can't think of any others at this moment.

Bands/groups:
Swing Out Sister - hate them. Yuk!
Any Stock Aitken & Waterman creation with the exception of Kylie as she has had some good stuff of late.
Can't think of any more here either. I'll ahve to go away and think more.

Sheeree,
Surely you arent including the great BANANARAMA in that Stock, Aitken and Waterman group! (and yes, SOME of us her in the states know who those producers are). Kylie was always HOT in my opinion, but she doesnt have much of a voice. But you are right, Rick Astley music they did sucks as well.

Well Sheree, I can only assume you didnt like Bananarama as much as I did, becuase you are a female. That CRUEL SUMMER video made me a fan of them for life. Then the VENUS video came out, and I was in L*O*V*E !!!!!

I don't think being female had anything to do with it. All the other girls in my class at school loved them and knew all the moves and words to the songs. But not I! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Worst bands/singers..gee, this could take awhile.
Menudo..ugh, how cheesy were these guys. Bleech! Oh yeah and then New Kids..can you say "Dorks!"..can't dance and can't sing.
Tiffany..they sent her on a mall tour, was that to torture all the shoppers at the mall?
Worst song..anything by those artists listed above!

I hate to admit it, but he 80s were not perfect. I hated boy bands then and I hate them now. I hate that I have yet to remove the word "grody" from my vocabulary but it fits so many things (ie "N'Stynk? They are sooo grody) I hated the car the Gremlin then and whenever I see one now I want to run it off the road and put it out of my misery.

Hated:

NKOTB
NEW EDITION
GLEN SCARPELLI - Why did he even attepmt a singing career!!!

Songs:
Money For Nothing - Dire Straits (just too overplayed here, got tired of it fast!!!)

This Notes For You - Neil Young ( for same reason as above.)

The late 80's song by the Cult, not "Fire Woman", but the other one!!

Worst song goes to Mick Jagger and David Bowie for the awful 'Dancing in the Streets'.

What the hell were they thinking?!? :hammer:

songs, that is.

3.) "Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A (skewered greatly in CB4)
2.) "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel
1.) "Kokomo" by The Beach Boys (The Muppets did it better)

I disagree with a lot of what's listed. I like the S/A/W artists, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Fleetwood Mac, Swing Out Sister, Gregory Abbott and Dire Straits (and the songs listed by them).

I have a sucky group to add:

-Aerosmith (This is a retroactive choice, being as I liked them for a long time, then the Super Bowl halftime show of last year happenned, and I loathed them). I think they're overplayed and sold out. I no longer like any of their stuff, including their 80s stuff. Besides that, what's with Steven Tyler putting his own daughter in skimpy clothing and lesbian situations in that one video?

Sincerely,

John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

I actually loved that!:( Two of my favorite singers in the whole world together for that song was a real sight for me to see. I still like that song.

The absolute worst bands/groups of the 80's...

Romeo Void..UGH! hated those guys, they sucked.
Menudo...need I REALLY say more?
and last, but probably not least, I almost hate to say it for fear of attack..but the Go Go's...UGH...Belinda Carlisle always sounded like she was "singing" through a fan set on high.

Ok well alot of the groups that have been mentioned are some of the ones that I really like :(
But I am known to be somewhat of a freak even by those that I hang around with :)
I love Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Belinda Carlisle.............Aerosmith, Cheap Trick..........
I can't say I disagree with the Menudo thing but I did listen to NKOTB..........I was in third grade!!!!!!
