Well, you left out my two favorite systems. The Intellivision and the Colecovison. Of the ones you listed though, I had to go with the plain old Nintendo. Man, I had fun with that thing in college. Plus, there were more games out for it than I ever remember being available for any other system.

I'm gonna have to go with the first Nintendo also.. and my favorite was Intellivision as well, Shakey! by the time N64 and Playstations came out... . I was pretty much finished with video games... every once in a while I'll play an old 80s arcade game using mame on the computer... but thats about it...

By the way... my husband was whistling the tune from the origional Super Mario Brothers Nintendo game at work the other day.. I thought , 'What the heck is he whistling" and then I recognized it and had a good long laugh... ;)

I went with the Sega Genesis because it is the only one I have ever owned. I have never tried any of these newer game players.

I'm going with the Playstation. It is five years old and there are still good games coming out for it. That is pretty amazing considering how simple it is compared to today's PC's/Consoles.

I've owned almost every system up till dreamcast. And IMO Sega Genesis had the most original games. :)

Never had one, although I might buy one if the prices drop. Let's see. That will make how many consoles I have? Five, I think...

I went with PS2...talk about a total 180 from months back...lol. I'm sure my tune will change once I have the cube with Zelda in my grasp, but right now, it's PS2. And since it plays the old PS as well, it's kinda like a double vote :D

I'm going with Playstation also. I liked all the older console games but Playstation for me, I thought, was a major break-through in the graphics and sound dept. ;)

I like the first Nintendo system and the game "Blades of Steel". That game rocks!!! I now have a Playstation and have enjoyed playing the old Arcade Classics like "Mrs. Pacman", "Dig Dug", "Galaxian" and "Pole Position". I have two tabletop arcade games from Japan which are "Pac Man" and "Donkey Kong". The classics are the best!

Old school betonhead here...I still think that the Atari 2600 was the Mother of all consoles. ;)

Though being simple in graphics and programming, the games provided hours of fun. Even today, I get out my old console from time to time (that emulator thing doesn´t work for me, I still have to figure out why - computer nerd here *LOL*) to play a few rounds of Space Invaders, Boxing, Desert War etc.

Just what did you do with your console mister. I take it that the term "joystick" held a completely different meaning for you...

I can only say Playstation because I haven't played on any machines more up to date than that. Playstation's the best I've come across so far in my game playing career.

I'm Goin With Dreamcast With PSone & PS2 At A Close Second
Even Though It Died Early, Dreamcast Was Truely Sega's Best System Since The Genesis. The Fighting And Sports Games Where Amazing And The Few RPGs It Had Where Kick Ass.

Yeah, I know, Gman. The 2600 was not my first console, but it was the coolest. I was a complete addict to that machine. I actually had a Telstar Arcade before that.

PS2, hands down. THE system to own for adults. Games like Grand Theft Auto 3 and Silent Hill 2...not for kids!

Awesome graphics, HUGE game library already!

That's only because you haven't picked up the PS2 yet, buddy...your life will be OVER!

BTW, I ruined Taz's life as it is awhile ago, I lent him "HAlf-Life" for his new PC. We may never see him again!!!

Yep. I remember becoming an addict to that game. Once I completed it normally, I then had the misfortune of discovering all of the mods and TC's for it.
Wanted (http://www.wantedhl.com/) is still one of the best. That an the USS Darkstar (http://underworld.fortunecity.com/doom/281/mods/ussdarkstar.htm) TC.

Shakey, you should try "They Hunger". It completely turns the game into a "Night of the Living Dead" game. MUCH better than "Resident Evil"! The sound effects alone, if you play at night with the lights out, will give you the creeps BIG time!

Yep. I've played that one. Very cool. I haven't had the time to check it out yet, but I hear that "They Hunger II" is even better. May have to hunt that one up and give it a download.
