Just curious if anyone is a c64 fan here..i remember the days of playing those 5.25 inch disks and load "*",8,1 and the syntax error in 0 and it brings back floods of memories. One of the best games for it ( in my opinion) was Crystal Castles. I do have that game now on a PSX collection now...but the old c64 workhorse was a piece of art. Gotta love that old school game music too.

Some of my friends owned the 'bread box'. We used to gather regulary for playing sessions which could last a whole weekend, with games like Mission Impossible, Ghettoblaster, Great Trans-Am Race or Thing On A Spring.
Later on, it was the Amiga for gaming and the Atari ST series for our first attempts in making music.
I guess that 16 BIT wrote a little hommage for the Commodore machines...'Changing Minds'. ;)

Yeah Ghostbusters was a great game..remember the c64 version of Rushn Attack..Green Beret? One of the hardest games I have ever played ..to this day..someone had to hit spacebar for you for the bazooka weapon. I wonder what what it was like ..using an ST for music..i use Mac software now and I m so curious....

Well, the Atari ST series were said to be one of the best computers for editing music and creating own sounds, since the built-in synthesizer chips were superior to the ones which were used in the Amigas.
I went soon out of the production business as I´ve seeked a career as a DJ...maybe I should have better sticked to creating music instead. ;)
Even today, you can find the ST series in some studios, they´re used especially in the production of Technopop. Of course, PCs and Macs are the main machines in use now (for editing/mixing), I guess the last ST was the 1040 which appeared on the market around the late 80s.
Sure! That was one of my firs 3 computers. They were (in order) Vic20, TI99/4a and the C64. Used to love playing Omega Race on the 64. First place I learned to program. Good fun.

I've read about the ST..I think this Belgian band Ionic Vision still uses it to sequence. One of these days I ll get my hand on one. I can't get enough of those techno pop type sounds..they have a certain finesse about them. I like sampling video game sounds for music too..MAME is great for that. ..they seem to have everything under the sun in the way of old arcade video games.
One of my fav C64 games of all times was Epyx Winter Games..hilarious. :p
