....an album released in 1982 on MCA records (see, it's a big label) by a band called "Trees"?

The whole album is great but 2 tracks stand out:
"Delta Sleep"
"Shock of the New"

Am I the only person who bought this album? Trouser Press praised it. It's probably the best American New wave release.

Anyone?

The only info I can find on them at AllMusic Guide is that their 1982 CD was called "Sleep Convention"

There is a band called And Also The Trees. Maybe it's them you're thinking of...?

I heard about this album thru a close friend back in the 80's.To all who have posted on this subject,let me first say that this album was absolutely great and I do actually have a cassette tape copy of it and have been looking for the album for years.My friend has a copy and has been committing it to disc forever and I still don't have a copy.My home made tape still plays pretty good.I anybody out there has a copy or can make a decent copy(cassette or cd),please contact me.This album(Sleep Convention)was available all the time way back then and I will post msg if I hear any kind of news on where to get a copy.Thank You....Houdini,you are not the only one...hope you now feel better!

There is a site called www.idealcopy.com that carries hard to find albums from 80's bands. Anyway, they have a forums section where you can request stuff that you would like to see them carry. I requested this album, and I will let you know when/if I hear anything from the moderator.
