As mentioned before, Cheltenham has been stuck in something of a time warp what with the local radio station playing 70's,80's and 90's and shops selling legwarmers and lace gloves, so last Thursday I decided to give the 80's night a go at a club called 'Subtone'.
And man, was it totally awesome! So very pleasing to see it so packed full of people of all ages...18 to 50 all reliving the glory days of music. And the DJ played some grrrreat stuff too from what I can recall inbetween beers!
The playlist included:
Madonna - 'Borderline & Lucky Star'
Hall & Oates - 'Out Of Touch',
Depeche Mode - 'Just Can't Get Enough',
Freeeze - 'AEIOU'
Frankie - 'Relax'
Erasure - 'A Little Respect'
Bon Jovi - 'Living On A Prayer'
Def Leppard - 'Animal'
Pointer Sisters - 'Jump'
Boy Meets Girl -'Waiting For A Star'
The Buggles - 'Video Killed The Radio Star'
KC & The Sunshine Band 'Give It Up'
It was a truly great night, and brilliant to see just as many people heading for the 80's floor as the next room which was RnB. I will be back, that's for sure :thumb:
