View Full Version : Missing Persons whistledog 12-31-04, 11:23 AM Which one was your favourite? ahafan02 12-31-04, 12:54 PM Destination Unknown...one of my all time favorite 80's songs. Jefferson Starship 12-31-04, 01:11 PM Walking in LA is awesome!!! Destination Unknown is Marietta Roemello 12-31-04, 01:43 PM Destination Unknown is Marietta Same song title, different song & artist :p Anyway, that's what I go with... Destination Unknown  ahafan02 12-31-04, 01:46 PM Walking in LA is awesome!!! Destination Unknown is Marietta Marietta's "Destination Unknown" is terrible and not the same as Missing Person's classic "Destination Unknown". xistenza 12-31-04, 01:59 PM Walking in LA! but i like the video for Destination Unknown better. ahafan02 12-31-04, 03:23 PM While I like "Walking in LA" has anyone ever seen Dale try to sing it live? She never seems to be able to keep up...especially during their short lived 2002 reunion tour. app4dstn 12-31-04, 04:28 PM OTHER: noticeable one BCRichRocker4JC 12-31-04, 04:31 PM Another vote for Destination Unknown. Although, I did enjoy some of the tracks off of 1986's "Color In Your Life". They kind of faded away after that. Jefferson Starship 12-31-04, 04:56 PM Same song title, different song & artist Anyway, that's what I go with... Destination Unknown Oh ok!! I didn't know that!! Thanks Roemy!! ahafan: maybe for you, but I like that song a lot!! :yesnod: :thumb: BCRichRocker4JC 12-31-04, 05:02 PM Oh ok!! I didn't know that!! Thanks Roemy!! No offence Starship but it was a little before your time. ;) ahafan02 12-31-04, 05:38 PM Oh ok!! I didn't know that!! Thanks Roemy!! ahafan: maybe for you, but I like that song a lot!! :yesnod: :thumb: It's all about personal taste..I'm glad you like it..it's too "middle of the road rock" for my tastes. :rollin: Jefferson Starship 12-31-04, 07:00 PM No offence Starship but it was a little before your time. ;) I read a lot about 80s but yeah this was a bit too early!! :D whistledog 12-31-04, 07:19 PM Although both Words and Walking in LA were top 40 hits here, I always preferred Windows. I love the part where she screams that high note :thumb: ahafan02 12-31-04, 08:14 PM Although both Words and Walking in LA were top 40 hits here, I always preferred Windows. I love the part where she screams that high note :thumb: WINDOWS is a beautiful song...in fact I really like every song from their first LP "Spring Session M"...it's probably one of the best 80's albums and a must for any 80's music fan. A little known fact about this song is that there is actually a video for it (it might have been even shown in some countries) but because "Walking in LA" failed to hit the top 100 in the US..Capitol decided to pull it as a single (for some strange reason neither "Words" not "Destination Unknown"..their most well known songs made it to the top 40). Other favs from that LP are: "Noticeable One" and "It Ain't None of Your Business". Their second album didn't do very well but it was a rather solid collection of pop/dance/synth pop tracks. Their last album, Colour In Your Life, wasn't very good at all...with exception of a few songs. By then, Dale & Terry had divorced and the band was falling apart. One Way Records (in the US) reissued these albums in 2000 and they are still avaliable (all with bonus tracks). whistledog 12-31-04, 10:13 PM WINDOWS is a beautiful song...in fact I really like every song from their first LP "Spring Session M"...it's probably one of the best 80's albums and a must for any 80's music fan. Did you know the album title 'Spring Session M' is an anagram of 'Missing Persons' ahafan02 12-31-04, 10:17 PM Another little known fact.. Did you know the album title 'Spring Session M' is an anagram of 'Missing Persons' Yep. Another little known fact (for casual fans) is that "Spring Session M" was actually their second release. Their first release was an EP that contained 4 tracks: Words, I Like Boys, Destination Unknown and Mental Hopscotch. Both "Words" and "Destination" are exactly the same as what was later featured on the "Spring Session M" album. The EP was released a year before "Spring" was released. JS 1-01-05, 12:28 AM Walking In L.A. DJ Midas 1-01-05, 03:00 PM I went with "Words". 80sTrivia 1-03-05, 01:48 PM I voted for "Walking In LA". Great song. And Dale Bozio was ultra-sexy!!! SeaBass 1-03-05, 09:29 PM i voted for Give, a powerful dance-pop anthem with a positive feel-good message. i still have the vinyl 45 single, Dale looks quite stunning on the picture sleeve. In fact, I had the priveledge of meeting Ms. Bozzio, and we actually bonded so well, she offered me her home phone number in Boston! Vilji 1-03-05, 10:51 PM life is so strange... Destination unknown 'Words' is close, too. Sonny Burnett 1-13-05, 12:31 PM "Not only are they deaf and dumb, they could be going blind. I think I'll dye my hair blue." I voted for 'Words'. I also like 'Mental Hopscotch'. Hipechik70 1-13-05, 12:48 PM not sure is "words" was the song I liked? LOL ObiDave 1-27-05, 06:11 PM I vote for Destination Unknown ! Poindexter 5-04-05, 12:59 AM Tough call. It came down to Mental Hopscotch and Destination Unknown. I went for the latter :thumb: Glenn Gulia 5-04-05, 11:12 PM Words :thumb: Jasper 5-06-05, 07:20 AM I went with Words, even if it does go ON and ON and ON. jen* 5-07-05, 06:13 PM Destination Unknown I love that funky bass line. :D Solar Angel 5-07-05, 09:12 PM Ahhhhhhh.....You touched one of my all time favorite early 80's groups...I posted in I do beleave in 80's list....in which the B-52's was listed which rocked me and I mentioned "Missing Persons", Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Devo and The Flying Lizards, Romeo Void...My choice was "Walking In LA" but my ultimate favorite is not listed "I like Boys"...from their debut album "Missing Persons" http://cglass.vinu.edu/mp/mpepic.jpg codeofhonor 8-14-05, 06:20 AM "Mental Hopscotch" destroys tall buildings - their very best song ever. Other personal faves include "Noticeable One," "Give," "Walking in L.A." "Windows," and "The Closer That You Get." In general I tend to like their harder-edged stuff the best... Krull 9-12-05, 03:18 PM I really like destination unknown :thumb: 80s Queen 3-21-06, 01:56 PM Had to go with something that wasn't listed, whitch was, "Mental Hop scotch." Great song, Never played. Monty007® 3-27-06, 09:56 AM destination unknown breenuts 5-25-07, 11:16 AM OTHER- the closer that you get. :yesnod: Vilji 7-05-07, 11:00 PM life is so strange,,, I love the lyrics and sound 80s Queen 7-06-07, 09:52 AM I don't know if I posted in this thread before or not. If I did, sorry about that. I didn't look through the other pages. I love Missing Persons. They didn't do anything bad. But, I would have to go with "Mental Hopscotch. It never got the airplay it deserved. |
