View Full Version : Why the new Motley Crue song sucks ass
The new Motley Crue single, "If I Die Tomorrow," is actually a leftover song from Simple Plan's recording sessions for its latest album, "Still Not Getting Any..." The common denominator is Bob Rock, who produced the Crue's new material after completing work with the Montreal rock band.
Oh jeez, they cant even write ONE tune? WTF?
Hemicidal 12-15-04, 01:54 PM THEY just need a shot in the arm...They'll be okay...I hope...
Christine 1-07-05, 08:52 PM Oh no! That does not sound promising... I'll still have to hear the song and decide if it's any good.
Glenn Gulia 1-08-05, 10:15 PM It's crap.
Yep! I heard it the other day,i was like waz that crap
chazztnvols 1-08-05, 10:21 PM I really wanted this come back to go good. I mean i was a big crue fan and i like Tommy Lee even more. So im still going to keep my fingers crossed that it will get better.
Screamin80s 1-09-05, 12:47 AM Im gonna go see them in philly in march!! im hoping the originals can stick it out together long enuff for that show!! I'll give yall a review there!! :thumb:
80's fanatic 1-09-05, 01:05 AM Well I heard the song the other night and I liked it. I've always liked Motley Crue and I thought the song had an 80's sound to it. I'm actually looking forward to hearing the rest of the cd, before I go out and buy it.
chazztnvols 1-10-05, 05:09 PM I just got the new song and i agree with 80's fanatic. I like the new song. I think it has an old crue feeling with a new rock feel. I feel a lot better about getting their new cd.
Here is the new video for "If I Die Tomarrow"

motleyfan 1-10-05, 07:53 PM I think the new song is ok. Have been a huge Crue fan...I guess since they started. First (my first tape ever) tape I bought was "Too Fast For Love" in like '82 (I was 11)& I have been a fan ever since. I was lucky enough to have an older brother to take me to all the shows till mom & dad felt I was old enough to go by myself. When I first heard all the origional mambers were getting back together for this tour I thought it was GREAT & there was NO WAY I was going to miss this. Got my tickets for the 3-14-05 show at the Target Center in Mlps Mn. Can't wait!!!! Although I also am a little worried that they all won't be able to stick together that long. From all the things I have been reading it sounds as though Tommy is the one making the most noise about not really giving a crap about the whole deal. All I can say is Tommy...Suck it up and do this for the rockers that have been Crue fans since the beginning
chazztnvols 1-10-05, 08:38 PM Yeah leave it to Tommy To mess it up. I like him a lot so i hope he chills out.
Man Mars always looked bad but he is really lookin like crap. He looks dead. LOL
I added the new vid to my Myspace site (http://profiles.myspace.com/users/13210959)
I've always referred to Mick as "Count Chocula". ;)
chazztnvols 1-11-05, 12:21 AM More like dead man walkin!
motleyfan 1-11-05, 01:17 AM Don't get me wrong. I like Tommy also. I was just reading an article in Metal Edge & he made it sound like he could take it or leave it. Yeah you guys are both right about Mick. He does look dead! But man can he play!!!

HUH? I have to draw the line there!
I love the Crue and Mick's a cool guy and all, but he's pretty mediocre on guitar. His leads aren't exactly jaw-dropping. Decent rhytmn player though.
See me standing firmly beside Pagan on this one.
Crue was cool, but as far as musical talent goes?? They're a rock band, and we all know you don't need to be Yngwie-esque to be in a rock band. There's nothing wrong with that but basic is about all you get with bands like Crue, Kiss and Warrant.
Hell even Faster Pussycat had dudes that could play, their bass player was phenomenal live. I saw them on Thanksgiving night in 87/88 and they had Frankie "I can play drums as good as anyone and get no recognition" Banali and he and the bassist did this incredible jazz/funk/rock duet thing. Left me and a buddy of mine (who later attended GIT) with our jaws hanging open in the front row.
I mention the Faster Pussycat thing because you can have extremely talented musicians playing 3 chord rock. There's just a difference between the 2.
There's some "Racer X" type guitarist toolin around in one of these post-grunge we sound alike bands that are out now too, I can't remember who or from what band, but I wanna say Racer X or someone of the calibur that could be in Racer X.
Tydestra 1-15-05, 02:03 AM When I 1st heard it I was iffy, it's grown on me since. I'm super pissed the MSG sold out so quickly and that I have to hear the bragging of my cousins back in Puerto Rico cause they got tickets to see them play in San Juan
BCRichRocker4JC 1-15-05, 09:44 PM Here's some quotes from Tommy Lee about the new record:
Tommy Lee says it's the best thing he's ever done. "It" being his new album. He knows it's a lame thing to say but dang it the guys passionate. "I believe it's the best (effing) record I've ever made in my life...I know it's cliche, everybody says that, but bro, this is it! These ar slam-dunk mother (effing) hits!".
Bro, you'd better lay off the funny weed (or whatever you've been smokin') for a while because this record ain't "it"!!

Bro, Who in the world are you talking about?? Racer X type guitarist (ala Paul Gilbert) in a "post-grunge" group??!!! I'd have to hear that to believe it. Paul Gilbert is one of the few guitarists that I actually hold up on a pedestal from that school of playing and that I can stand to listen to on more than a few tracks (sorry not Yngwie included). I can't believe there'd be any "grunge" player with that much talent in the jam in between their toes!!

Rhiannon73 1-25-05, 10:20 AM I like the new song. It's not their best but it's catchy. One more month until I finally see them live! I can't wait!!
Christine 1-25-05, 10:43 AM I like the song too. It definitely doesn't stand up to songs like 'Girls Girls Girls' and 'Kickstart My Heart' but it's not bad! :thumb:
