When original vocalist Ron Tabak was fired for his wild behaviour, many thought it signalled the end of Prism. In some ways it did ...

Since their debut in 1976, Prism had become superstars in Canada, but apart from a few minor hits, were almost unknown in America. As no surprise, this, their 8th album was a smash hit here in their homeland upon release in 1981, but in America.. it was the break they so long deserved.

The album's lead single Don't Let Him Know became their first U.S. top 40 hit, peaking at #39 in January of 1982. The follow-up Turn on Your Radar entered at US #62 in April of '82. Both singles cracked the Canadian top 40.

This was the first Prism album to feature new vocalist Henry Small, but sadly it would be the last to feature original member, keyboardist John Hall. Following a tour to support the album, tensions forced the group to part ways, and although Small continued on basically as a solo act under the Prism name, the 1983 album 'Beat Street' went nowhere

Small Change had officially brought Prism to an end, but their legacy still holds on.

Many will say this was not Prism's finest work, but it will always hold a place in my record collection
