I don't know if they were popular outside of Canada, but does anyone remember Sharon, Lois & Bram

They were popular children's entertainers from Canada toured the country side putting on children's shows and releasing albums dating back to the late 70's. In 1984, they launched a children's TV program called The Elephant Show

The show featured children interacting in fun and games.. there were giant elephant puppets, and even guest appearances from banjo/guitar/fiddle player Eric Nagler, who became known for his wacky homemade instruments.
When The Elephant Show went off the air in 1988, Sharon, Lois & Bram continued on with their tours and TV specials, and Eric Nagler got to star in his own show in 1991 titled Eric's World
