I just finished dl'ing a movie (The file had the WMP icon next to it.)from Limewire. :shh: When I go to play it in Windows Media player I get "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found." What can I do to get the movie to play?

I used to get those errors all the time. From what I have experienced, some avi files you download from file sharing services require DivX. In my case, i downloaded a DivX movie player from download.com and it played the file
But ever since I upgraded my Windows Media Player.. I don't seem to require that DivX player no more

No, because most likely the player included the DIVX codec and that remained on your system. Download the DIVX Player w/ the codec from C|Net (http://www.download.com/DivX-Player-with-DivX-Codec-/3000-2139_4-10316156.html?tag=lst-0-4) and see if that will allow you to play the movie.
Nothing is working. I am guessing the file may not be right. No big deal. Thanks for the help. :)
