I thought i'd do a thread on the legendary Paul Davis! He was primarily a singer in the 70's, known for songs like 'I Go Crazy', but in the 80's, he put out some of his best work ever!

His first hit of the 80's was 'Do Right' in 1980 from his self-titled album that also included the minor hit 'Cry Just A Little'.

His last ever album, titled Cool Night in 1981 produced hits with the title track Cool Night (which may very well be the best ballad of the 80's), the wonderful '65 Love Affair, and his last ever hit Love or Let Me Be Lonely (all three songs made the U.S. top 40)

LMAO!!!! I remember him and those songs. Thing is that I never saw what he looked like until this thread. I can't begin to put those mellow songs to that guy. I would have thought he was ex-Steppenwolf or something. Wow, too funny :mwaha: The songs were good for the mellow side of life.

He certainly doesn't look like the "mellow" singing type, that's for sure

I wonder if he still has all that hair. I'd hate to see what his wife looks like :scared:

So he didn't make another album after his Cool Night (1981)? I thought that he might have... but taste of music was changing so fast in the 80's that I thought he wasn't selling as well. I wonder why he gave up. I like his songs.

Apparently he decided to retire from singing due to the rapid change in music. He currently works as a music producer in Nashville for alot of Country acts from what i hear

I believe Paul Davis still lives in Atlanta, Georgia

My favorite is "Sweet Life" 1977

He also had a hit in 1974 called "Ride 'Em Cowboy"
