View Full Version : The things we do for love..........
LOSTNTHE80S 9-09-04, 06:54 PM Hey...the old cronies on the board (including my self! ) remember the 10CC song from the 70s called THE THINGS WE DO (or did) FOR LOVE...(like walking in the rain and the snow, where there's no place to go)
What do you like to do when with your special person? I did not put this in the LL so keep it clean! It's a nice thread ok :) (We can always make up another version for the LL ;) )
We like to have sno ball fights, go out together to slow dance, cuddle,
keriberri 9-09-04, 07:36 PM Bubble Baths! :thumb:
Just being with him was special enough. But if I had to choose .. (if I had a special someone) I would like to just lay under the stars on a blanket while holding hands and just listen to the nature. :D..
Man I almost went to the LL mode

Bubble Baths! :thumb:
Yep, Bubble Baths. I'd say that is keeping it clean :mwaha:
Ok, it may sound corny but Faith and I like candlelight dinners and going on weekend trips to cozy out of the way hotels. :thumb:
bookmistres4ever 9-09-04, 07:49 PM Sounds weird but... bookstores and cups of tea.
As entertainment my hubby and I haunt various bookstores, even if we've been there only the week before. Especially if they are used books like (Half Price books). I am totally stocked up (beyond belief!!) for the winter with books that I may never get around to reading, but I still like going to the bookstore cause my hubby wants to go. :yesnod:
I think I make my hubby at least 3 cups of tea everyday, I make the tea to show him I love him and wanna take care of him, he drinks them (even if I don't make it exactly right with enough suger or whatever) because he loves me. Simple as that.
He gives me backrubs every night (almost) even if he's knee-deep in a writing project. And for that, I feel totally pampered.
We go out to breakfast every week (even though I hate breakfast food) because I know my hubby loves breakfast. :yucky:
And oh yeah, like Milani said, Go out and look at the stars.

Ok yeah I don't have one either...but "if I did" I’d say, start around 4pm take a bath, BUBBLES WE NEED BUBBLES! Watch a movie and lie on the sofa together in our b-day suits...hehee and do nothing for the rest of the day and night. But I don't have one, so that won't happen for a while. :dammit: LOL
SouthernImage 9-09-04, 08:06 PM I'll let you know after Yaga dude wins my hand in a battle.
If I had someone special I would simply enjoy being silly with them.
Yagyu Retsudo 9-09-04, 09:18 PM I tape "Sex and the City" episodes so I can show girls how in tune I am with feminine side. Unfortunately, the dichotomy of trying to be a devoted bushi warrior by day and a suave, psudo-intellectual meterosexual limp wrist by night has led to a conflict of interest within my fagile young psyche.
I'm bi-polar. And I have Mononucleosis. :argh:
LOSTNTHE80S 9-09-04, 09:42 PM Bookmistress...books and cups of tea sound like a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon together :)
Joe and I enjoy going to the flea markets and auctions together.
I like to take care of him when he's not feeling well...he tends to over do it when I'm sick..but you gotta love him...when we had first started going out..I wasn't feeling well and he brought over some soup, made it for me, and just stayed there with me for the rest of the evening until I fell asleep in his arms..this was on the couch and it felt so nice.
Susan and I love watching movies sitting real close and handing hands during the entire movie. We like to get out on Sunday mornings to grab coffee and a bagel for some "alone" time kidlet free. ;)
Eric T H 9-10-04, 06:46 AM I used to enjoy going for long walks, it didn't matter if it was on the local seafront or a trip to a park or forest, just as long we were both there because we wanted to be. The quality of time you have with no distractions from TV, phones etc. or even housework is second to none.
Poison PJ 9-10-04, 07:00 AM when I was with Becky, she liked to watch me play RPGs
When we were living in Denver, we used to go to this little Bed & Breakfast up in Aspen - it was VERY romantic.
Nowadays, things are so different that we don't do much together anymore.
I still sometimes put little notes & trinkets in his suitcase when he goes out of town. He LOVES that.

I still have some of the little notes my ex-wife used to leave me, which when you consider we split up 10 years ago, it shows how the little things often mean so much.
Princess 9-10-04, 09:24 AM We enjoy just being together no matter what we are doing  Whether it's just lying around in the den watching tv, sitting on the deck relaxing, out on our boat, working on the many renovations we are always up to around the house or what ever it is, we just like being with each other :)
P.S. I was young but do remember that song and it was a sweet song :)
KimJoy69 9-10-04, 09:39 AM Just having the privilege of being in his presence is enough for me. But my favorite things are:
~Lying on the bed with my head on his chest & his arms wrapped around me
~Riding in the car and looking over at him while he's driving, and he feels me looking at him and turns to grin at me
~Putting my arms around him and squeezing him close and putting my face between his neck and his hair (I love that smell, too!)
~The Nextel Alert sound... then "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Baby"
~When this pops up in the IM box: "is inviting you to start viewing webcam. Do you want to Accept (Alt+C) or Decline (Alt+D) the invitation?"
~And the last thing I hear from him every day: "Good Night Angel"

...there's not a DAMN thing that's "goofy" or "corny" when you are in love...
LOSTNTHE80S 9-10-04, 10:02 AM Joe calls me a couple of times a day from work "Just to tell you that I love you."
After over 11 years of marriage, I still get at least 1 red rose a week (you ought to see all the containers of the petals from them)
In the morning, I get up to make him breakfast but instead, he pours me a cup of coffee and tells me just to relax before the kids get up and grabs himself a cake or some cookies.
He does spoil me :)
Don't get me wrong...I do little things for him to (or at least try to) he says what he loves most is just knowing that he has found the one to share his life with and has given him 2 beautiful daughters.
I'll let you know after Yaga dude wins my hand in a battle.

The real-life version of Comic Book Guy asked me on a date once. :yucky:
Anyway...things I did for love are:
* drive 2 hours to take care of his whiney-baby ass when he has the sniffles
* do what he wants even though he never does what I want
* smile and give him a thumbs up when he marries somebody other than me
* don't kick him in the nards when he suggests I get breast implants or have a threesome with him and some skank he picked up from the bar
Now you all wonder why I'm single? THAT'S WHY!!!!
:bigeek: Damn Punky... he does sound bad
 But there are other great guys out there and they are not all childish ass holes  trust me..
Dont' give up hope :ghug:
The man of your dreams will be sweeping you away at anytime.. the great thing is it will be when you least expect it :thumb:
