Forgive my excitement.. but i've never actually been up North.. and i can't wait to breathe that nice ... NOT HUMID.. air :D Jason's father is getting remarried in October and we're flying up to New Bedford, Mass. for the weekend.. although i wish i could stay longer. For those of you who live in that area, i'm just curious to know if the leaves will be all red and yellow by then?

I hate to say it, hon, but there is a good chance that most of them will have fallen off the trees already, if you go late in the month. Early in the month, you may have a decent shot at our reds, oranges and yellows, if we don't have a big windstorm or something.

I hope you get here early enough to see some of the trees while the leaves are still half green, half whatever color the leaves will turn on that tree, because it makes the tree look like it's on fire!

You may experience what we call our "Indian Summer"--warm days, COLD nights, so bring appropriate clothing, and rain gear.

Have a great trip, and we hope you love New England like we do!

Make sure to try the maple syrup while you are here, and the apples are at their best late September to late October.

October is the best time to visit New England. Like Brandy said the begining of the month is better to see the foliage. New Bedford is nice. it's right on the water. Don't forget to visit Lizzy Bordans house while you're here!

Well, we're leaving October 7th, so i am hoping to see the pretty colors. We do get the colors down here.. but i'm sure it's nothing like up North. We were going to stay until Sunday ... and Saturday he was going to show me the sites.. but the only flight we could really get was at like 6:20 am on Sunday (coming home), and he didn't want to get up that early  .. so we're leaving Saturday evening. The wedding is Friday, so hopefully i'll get to see a few things early Saturday before we leave.

SI, all i know is hot & humid  .. even when it is cold here, it's not a "crisp" cold.. if you know what i mean..

Early October is the time to see leaves where I am, too. We have some trees losing their leaves already up here, so I'm afraid it might be an early, quick autumn. :( Never been to the Northeast, so I hope you have a great trip. :)

Leaving this Thursday  Really sucks that I won't have enough time to see the sights :( We'll have to take another trip when I have vacation time. I've only been on the new job since June.

So how are the leaves looking up there now??

I don't know how y'all live without four seasons!!! I'd move if we stopped having all of them here.

Pam, I hope you have a great trip! :) If you need to see the trees, buy postcards. Spend your time visiting things you may never get the chance to see otherwise! ;)

Well, gang, I made it back!! I had a wonderful time with Jason's family. :D The air was wonderful, the leaves were beautiful, but unfortunately.. I was too busy taking everything in to take any pictures.. so, no.. I don't have any pics to share. I did have a few out of place moments.. but they were amusing. Two of them, we were at "The Captain's Place" in Acushnet (sp?) and I ordered wings.. which, by the way.. sorry guys .. you have nothing on our wings down here.. I guess we just know how to fry em :p :p Just teasing, they were good. Anyway, I asked for ranch dressing.. and she's like "uh, we don't have that" ... WHAT?? so I got some kind of peppercorn parmesan stuff which was just as good. Then my boyfriend says, drink very slowly, cause the refills aren't free... once again.. WHAT??? I usually get about three refills at a restaurant .. but I did well. And those Catholic weddings  that's something I am not used to. All in all, had a wonderful time. The people were great.. I had a wonderful time mocking them everytime they said "car" or anything of the like. Peter was "Peta"... Water was "Wata" It was quite an experience. I did, however, have a horrible flight back. This has only been my second flight and once again, I got sick. I threw up 4 times on the flight and once again after I got off the plane.. :( Was not fun at all.

Thanks for all your thoughts, as I did have a safe and enjoyable trip :ghug:

Wait until you're invited to an Orthodox wedding. Although, if you've seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you've sort of seen one.

Welcome back, Sweets. I'm sorry you had such an awful flight. :(

Pagan, ughhh I hate bleu cheese!!! :p :p that peppercorn parmesan stuff was good though... but the wings sucked!!! :yucky:

SI, I know.. what the hell is wrong with these people????

Jay, trust me.. the clam boil they had before we left.. caused quite a lot of gas amongst the passengers on the way to the airport.. it was rather disgusting.. soooo glad i don't eat clams
