OK, I decided to start a thread about pet peeves based on the the freindship quiz many people answered too many too name... So let's go ahead & name them all. I got plenty too ;)

Unsolicited advice... If I want you opinion I will be sure to ask...

Nosey people... Is my life that interesting???

Know it all's... No one person can know EVERYTHING...

People who blame others for their mistakes... How can you learn or grow from them if you keep pushing the blame on everyerone else??? It's ok to be wrong, ya messed up, face it, try to fix it & move on...

I'm sure I'll find more, but here's a start :D

Good post. Especially the one about "know it all's". Just because you know something about one subject doesn't mean that you know everything about a similiar subject. Also, people who blame everyone else for their mistakes. Take some ownership of your life and grow as an individual. That's really one of the only ways to maturity. :thumb:

I know most of us have the same Pet peeves. Mine are: people telling me what to do , Whiners, Chronic complainers, people talking on cell phones while shopping and so on. So I'm just going to say the goofy stuff that bugs me.

My absolute number one pet peeve about people is when someone sais they are going to do something...And doesn't follow through. Do what ya' say, and say what you'll do.

Negative attitudes -we have a LOT of this in my office right now. NOTHING makes these people happy.
People that act like they are martyrs -and I'm not even talking about in the religious sense... I'm talking in plain old everyday life. Those that think they work harder than anyone else, yet refuse to delegate & share the load, then BITCH about it constantly :irked:
People that complain -a little bit is human nature... life's not perfect... but CONSTANTLY? Come ON!!
My kids when they whine - I don't think I need to explain that one!
My parents when they try to "over parent" me -I know they mean well and are trying to do right by my kids, but I am their mother. There are certain parenting "things" they did that I hated as a child that I swore I wouldn't do to my kids once I was a parent. So what if I'm not like them...
The way my Ex pushes my buttons -I think he actually ENJOYS pissing me off :grrr:
I hate it when people don't know how to regulate the speed of their vehicle. Press the gas, let off the gas, press the gas, let off the gas... GAAAAAAAAAH!!! :dammit: I got stuck behind this dweeb this morning that did that. No one was in front of him, but you could tell that's exactly what he was doing. For about 10 miles on a 55mph stretch of road, my speed varied between 40 mph to 60 mph.

:D That's about it...

Thank you... I totally forgot this. It's one of my biggest. Say it & mean it or don't say it at all... I truly understand that things happen, but come on, all the time???

Reminded me of another similar one... EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES...

The way my Ex pushes my buttons -I think he actually ENJOYS pissing me off :grrr:
Which is why you should always come to me so that I can help you out with that. You know I'm the master of "one-upmanship". ;)

My choices would be:

1. People who drive slow in the left lane - This goes DOUBLE if they're in an SUV or minivan. Get in the right lane you idiot!!!! :grrr:

2. People who don't say "thank you" when you hold a door open for them - What am I, the f*cking doorman? No one's paying me to hold it open, so have the common courtesy. I either yell "YOU'RE WELCOME" sarcastically, or say "Don't forget my tip at Xmas time!". :6ohboy:

3. People who make fun of the 80's - I detest this! I may be an 80's lover, but I love ALL the decades that came before it. They ALL have their cool points! Kids today don't give a flying ape shit about ANYTHING except what THEY think is "cool".

4. Liars - I'd rather be insulted by the truth than pacified by lies.

5. People who talk in movie theaters - SHUT THE F*CK UP ALREADY!!!

6. Musclehead deeeks at the gym who are showoffs - Listen steroid boy, there's no reason to slam the weights down after each set with a huge grunt so everyone sees how much you were lifting, then walk around in a circle with your arms out to the sides like you were inflated with a bicycle pump as you look all around to see who's watching your overinflated egotistical ass. Even worse are the simple minded three brain cell bimbos who actually swoon over this.

7. Sports fans who somehow feel that their team's success is a direct reflection on how good THEY are - Um....hello Johnny Jockstrap!!! Unless you strapped on a pair of cleats and scored the winning touchdown yourself, you ain't done SHIT! It's a game, asshole. Sit down, watch, and have a nice big cup of shut-the-f*ck-up!

8. People who think they're "artsy" by ordering the ridiculous Starbucks "specialty coffees" - Coffee....black, two sugars. Maybe some half & half. That's all, there's no need for a mocha latte frappe cappushitball...

9. Musicians who take themselves too seriously and get too political - Lighten up, Beethoven...you're not about to change the world with 3 to 4 minutes of music. Music should be an escape from everyday life, not something that beats you over head with it.

10. Judgemental people - Walk a mile in my shoes and experience what I have before you label me. If you HAVE done what I have feel free to label, because you're in the same boat. If not, that big ole cup of STFU is waiting!

Or think they're fat when they aren't. Like a 139 lb, close to 6' tall female I knew once who thought she had to loose another 5 lbs. I wonder if she really thought that ribcages were attractive???!!!

TOTALLY!!! My friend does this to me all the time... We are the same height about 5 ft. I'm around 100 give or take a few & she's around 200. Ok, but the thing here is that I am what she calls "lucky". I am not lucky. My whole family is tiny (genetics) & I have health issues that I have to watch everything I eat or drink meanwhile she eats & drinks like there's no tommorrow... Chronic complainers...

1~ My ex husbands hypocricy. He had the nerve to call me a horrible mother for getting a tattoo, then he shows up with one 2 weeks later.

2~ People who whine and moan about their shitty lives, but when I need support, they dont listen and turn it all around to them

3~ Theives

4~ People who send me the exact same email joke even though my name is on the CC list and I got it from the same person! Read the damn list....

5~ Bad grammar.

6~ Bad drivers!!!!!

#1 - Automated phone services. I absolutely deplore calling a company and getting those stupid automated machines and sitting through 5 minutes of menus before I finally realize that I hit the wrong button and have to start all over again.

#2 - Hypocrites. People who complain about something and then turn around and do it themself.

#3 - Chronic complainers. All of us have crap to complain about and life is tough enough as it is. Don't burden me with all of your mundane little problems that you should be able to resolve without bringing me down.

#4 - Chronic tardiness. When I tell someone that I'm going to be somewhere at a certain time then I'm usually there when expected. Some people though think that they can show up whenever they please and I'll be sitting there waiting on them. No sir.

Poor grammar.

Total disregard for other people.

People who are rude to me and then get pissed off when I get pissed off, as if they can do whatever they want to me and I'm just supposed to sit there with a stupid grin on my face and let them. Oops, that was a run-on sentence.

Red lights that stay red for an eternity even though there's nobody coming through the green-light side.

People who keep asking me when I'm going to get married.

People who unload a ton of groceries at the checkout and then don't put the divider down so you can unload your stuff.

And the whole Starbucks thing reminds me of my sister, she loves her Starbucks, i'll have to remember to ask her if she likes CAPPUSHITBALL

Most of my pet peeves are the same as already posted but I think one of my biggest ones right now is how seniors are treated, by society and the government (round these parts anyways) What happened to helping someone hold onto their dignity....they AREN'T children and shouldnt be treated as such...alot of people would be suprised if they sat down and visited with some lonely senior how much knowledge and love is in their hearts :)

All of my pet peeves can pretty much be summed up under the heading, "People who think they have a right to inconvenience others". To wit:

Slow drivers -- why do people think they have the right to keep others from going the posted, legal speed limit?

People who don't discipline their kids -- you brought them into the world, not me. I shouldn't have to be bothered with their bad manners and annoying attitudes.

Pushy people -- I've got a former friend who thought that friendship meant he could enter your house without knocking. He acted so shocked and hurt when I set him straight on something called privacy.

Whiners -- My life's too short to feed your neuroses.

Overbearing people -- If you need an ego massage, keep moving. I don't have time for you.

That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more later.

This is more like a list of annoying things
People that send chain mail.
People that call me at work to ask what I'm doing, Duh knucklebutt I'm at work!
People that call me and waste my time by wanting to breath into the phone because they are semi busy with an email or something.
Snobs. I have no use for people like this. They have NO self esteem
People that hold up lines in stores. They are in a rush to hold the cashier hostage that they “forget” something and run wild in the store looking for it all the while others are waiting.
Telemarketers that call you in the evening and if you are lucky they will speak decent English.
Butt kissers. They are the scum of society.
Anyone that would abuse an elderly person or a child.
People that wear socks with high heels. Hello people this is NOT a style! Put your husbands calf socks back in the drawer and pull out some pantyhose
People who turn up the base in their cars for everyone to hear. This is RUDE. I don’t want to listen to your cheap speakers busting.
People that want to “cruise” on the freeway. You do NOT look cool. You look like a looser.
Gossipers. These people can be fun sometimes, especially at work. I love to give them a “story” and watch them run wild with it *we have one of these at work* :mwaha:

~ People who put those "Honor Student" stickers on the back of their cars. Might I be the first to say, "WHO THE F*CK GIVES A SHIT?"

~ Women who feel the need to throw themselves at any male who pays them even the slightest bit of attention in a desperate attempt to somehow inflate their next to nothing sense of self-esteem. Webster's Dictionary, look up the word "selective", willya? No one is looking at you as a woman, they're seeing you as a life-support system for your crotch.

~ People who clumsily say or post things aimed at others, thinking that the person it's aimed at doesn't get it. Hey M. Night Shyamalan.....you're not fooling anyone with your "plot twists".

~ Skanky women who think they're sexy. Gah....take a f*cking bath, Courtney....in Clorox.

~ Teenage girls who wear lowrider jeans and half shirts, and all have that sloppy beergut hanging out. Newsflash "Britney"....you don't look sexy, you look like a tube of Pilsbury biscuits that popped open.

~ Baggy f*cking pants Here's a fashion statement for you...the "I'm too f*cking stupid to figure out what size jeans I wear" look...

~ Baseball caps worn the wrong way. It used to be the "backwards" thing, which was stupid enough. Then we had the "sideways" thing, which immediately made me subtract 30 points from that person's IQ. Now we have the "somewhere between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock" look. Closer to about 1:30. All I can say is, listen 50 Cent.....You look like a jackass. the brim goes forward. A big pet peeve of mine is when you give a friend your personal (not even HotMail or Yahoo) email address and the only thing they do with it is flood you with forwarded emails you care nothing about and to top it off won't even respond to emails you've sent them in order to correspond with them. I was going to post this in the DYHIW thread but noticed Val closed it down for good reasons. So I'm posting it here.

A big pet peeve of mine is when you give a friend your personal (not even HotMail or Yahoo) email address and the only thing they do with it is flood you with forwarded emails you care nothing about and to top it off won't even respond to emails you've sent them in order to correspond with them. It's kind of like a personal version of SPAM!! http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/sd3.gif

I'll break this into two categories (online and offline):

Online:
i hate people that have no concept of what punctuation or capitalization are and they just let one sentence run into another and you never know when to stop reading

i h@73 l337 5p3@k...

Trolls and other annoying people that cannot help but to provoke arguments because they think they know more than everyone else.

Offline:
People who seem to live under the idea that their opinions are a matter of fact (get over yourself, you're not as cool as you think you are).

People that walk in front of you in a store and don't have the common courtesy to say excuse me.

People who like to say how things should be when they have never done their part to make things happen.

I know where you are coming from... Many years ago I came out of Home Depot to see a HUGE dent in the driver side quarter panel from a cart. You know those big and heavy Home Depot carts that lug around sheetrock, wood, etc... I bought that car new and took excellent care of it. before I begin, I like gossip, if someone wants to tell me gossip, I want to hear it, from what I can tell most people do.

a pet peeve of mine is people who are not overly intelligent but try to portray themselves as experts because they saw Oprah had a show on it, probably paid 2 bucks for the transcript and have a whole bookshelf of them as reference material.

teenagers (usually in groups) who walk slow, usually at a crosswalk, irealize it's a crosswalk, but you can move a little quicker than a three toedsloth, maybe the sideways hat and the lip ring is slowing them down

People who make fun of the unfortunate in front of them. (I admit to making jokes and laughing at unappropriate stuff ie the burger king guy), but I would never do it to there face. I used to have to stand outside the school talking to the crosswalk guard that was slow, and I was always surprised at how many adults would talk to him using condocending remarks, or saying things that were rude, but figured it was over his head.

my BIGGEST peeve is automated call systems that give you a series of 20 million prompts, none of which usually fit the situation you are calling about. When you finally get hold of someone a lot of times they tell you "Oh Sir/Madam, you have the wrong department, let me transfer you" and there you go right back to Muzakville. If you're lucky enough to get the right person, you usually have to give them all the info you just entered while waiting an eternity in prompt-land!!!! :dammit: I used to just pretend I had a rotary dial so and stay on the line to go to an operator, but alot of places don't include that option anymore....I guess I wasn't the only one pretending and they caught on!

also Office gossip, liars, know-it-alls, busybodys, the PC police, drivers with cell phones, Target Store and "Can You Hear Me Now" commercials, and telemarketers! :irked:

I hear ya! Very frustrating.

I hate when you order pizza w/ xtra cheese and you get a little more then the regular amount. And when the pizza shope put the pepperonui under the cheese. It goes on top so that it gets crunchy on around the sides.

People who say "I mean this in the best way possible." If you really mean it that way why do you have to put a disclaimer on it? :irked:

Having a discussion with someone you agree with, but they are so fired up that they don't realize that you are agreeing with them. Then they get frustrated because you aren;t saying it "exactly" like they are. :( (work on the communication skills) :dammit:

People who have decided that my parenting isn't up to their standards, and that I am just a complete idiot when it comes to raising my children. :tsk: (I just tell them that me and my children are Aliens :alien: and we are new to this world!) :D

Kinda Reminds me of the kids around here. They drive their "Souped up" Hondas (If that's even possible). Used to have the same thing in my old neighborhood back when I had the Z28. They rev up those same "Beefed up" Hondas, and I rev up a good Ol' AMERICAN 350cid POWERHOUSE! and then yell out "Now THAT is POWER Children!" Pissed em off and I thought it was funny as hell!

The other day I had some kid in a honda civic try and challenge me to a drag race. his civic against my Toyota Pickup. Need I tell ya who won?

Kids, Don't ever try challenging an 80's teen to a drag race! You'll LOSE. Hey, It isn't just a hobby when I said one of my interests was working on my truck in my profile!

Kids today are more concerned with the stereo then they are the engine and that was this kids downfall.

Hahahaha! I love when they punch a hole in the exhast to make thier 4 cylinders sound more menacing!! Lawn mowers with ground effects I tell ya!:lol:

Don't get me wrong Slayergrrl. I currently drive a toyota pickup. It also has a 4-banger. BUT, unlike those brats I take CARE of my truck. Oil Change every 3,000 miles like clockwork, Tune-up annually whether it needs it or not. The works! Why go through all that? Simple...while they are on the side of the road with their punched through Mufflers from a seized up or overheated engine, I'm toodlin on down the road in a machine that mechanically is like new (Maybe even better), blaring my Slayer, DIO, Iron Maiden, Judas Preist and pointing at them laughing as I go.

I can't stand it when someone sticks a finger over one nostril and blows his junk on the sidewalk. :argh:

Whatever happened to having some class people?

This just happened to me yesterday, but another pet peeve of mine is when someone you know asks you to help them with something (in this case the person is moving and wants me to help), but they never seem to be around when you need their help! This person has done this to me a number of times...this time I said I was busy and couldn't help out. :irked:
