One of the best games I ever played in the arcades was Rampart. Does anyone remember it?

The object of the game was to select a piece of land, where you would receive a castle with a wall around it. You had to position cannons within the castle walls and once game play began, you had 30 seconds to shoot oncoming ships in the water that tried to blow up your castle

Then, you were given 30 seconds where you had to rebuild your castle walls using Tetris pieces, where you could possibly build bigger castle walls and take over other castles in the area

If you could not connect your castle walls complete within 30 seconds, the game was over.

If a ship managed to dock on land, the ship would send out little men who would take down your castle walls by hand which made it difficult it times to destroy them

That game drove me nuts in the arcade... :lol: At least I got my revenge on MAME :hammer: Fun when ya got about 6 or 7 cannons going and bomb the hell outta everything before the ships get half a chance to even THINK about hittin the shore :lol:

Funny when ya lose though... the whole guillotine thing :p

The trackball in the arcade version really made things difficult for exact placement of bricks.
