JOURNEY!

I've been waiting to go see this concert for the last 2 months ... it's nowhere near the original line-up, but I hear that the front man is a Steve Perry look and sound-a-like !

What's you're favourite Journey song ?
What do you think they'll open the concert with ?

AWWWWWWW! YOU SUCK! That would SOOO kick ass!

He does sound just like him. The true test is "Separate Ways", if you close your eyes you can't tell the difference. He does sort of resemble him but he isn't a dead match.

Have fun!

I know you'll have a wonderful time at the Journey concert tonight, Mike. Sad that Steve Perry won't be singing the tunes, but the guy they have to replace him sounds almost identical to Steve, which is an amazing accomplishment! My fave Journey tune? Only the Young... :thumb:

My favorite is "Faithfully"

And for fun, I'll guess they open with "Don't Stop Believing"

I think they have been opening with Seperate Ways.

Anyhow, my favorite Journey song would probably be either Send Her My Love, or Only The Young.

Have fun!

In '83 they opened with Chain Reaction and in '86 with Separate Ways. Two of the most awesome concerts I've ever been to!! ;)

Sorry I meant to post earlier and tell everyone about the concert ...

This is the first opportunity I've ever had to see the band, and I'm truely sorry I've never seen the original line-up (Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Steve Perry and Steve Smith ... yes I know Smith was a replacement for Dunbar, but Dunbar only played on one album...)

The concert was held a CasinoRama, a venue that holds approximately 5000 people (including floor seat) ... let me tell you, the house was packet ! The crowd was roarin, ad I was thinking that if these guys don't sound good, this will turn into a big disaster !

The band came on stage at 8:00PM sharp and played 2 solid hours of classic Journey ... those this was not the orginal band, dammit let me tell you that it was so close to true that you'd have to really listen carefully to tell the difference between the old members and the new .... they came back and played a 45 minute encore !

The new front man (Steve Augeri) is a Steve Perry look-alike (well pretty close) and sound like, and yes Brandy, they did an amazing job on Seperate Ways !

BUT, the real blast for me was the fact that although Augeri is the front man, the drummer, Deen Castronovo, stole the show! Not only did he do lead vocal for about a quater of the songs, but when he sang ONLY THE YOUNG, shite it sounded sooo much like Steve Perry!

It was an awesome concert, best $35 dollars I've spent in a looooong time !

And just to quench everyone's curiosity, I was waiting for the opening song to be ONLY THE YOUNG, nice solid moving tune .... well they opened with ANY WAY YOU WANT IT !

The closing song .... SEPERATE WAYS !
