Went to see this last night and had a thoroughly good laugh.
Funny songs, amusing dance routines all set to the plot of Evil Dead. Lots of great lines lifted from Army of Darkness too.
The all too familiar story of "5 college students in an abandoned old cabin in the woods" with enough fake gore to please everyone. The first 4 rows are classified as Blood Seats and patrons in these seats are provided with a garbage bag to protect from the stage blood. I must confess that there was not nearly as much spraying blood as I thought there might be but it was still pretty cool.
The venue in Toronto is the Bathurst St. Theatre which is an old converted church. The perfect venue for this production.
The audience was made up of all kinds but there was more than a liberal dose of little goth people. Booze is available throughout the entire show if you are seated in the balcony.
Best song of the night? Definitely....."WTF Was That"
The show is on a short preview at the moment and should be back for a longer run soon. If it comes to your town I would highly recommend a trip.
