View Full Version : Talk
Mirrorball Man 7-02-01, 12:35 AM Im sure this has been mention before by one member or another ..
But while I was thinking about the subject,
everytime I come here and see who else is on the site the same time I am it would be nice to speak real time with these people Like IRC(real time chat) but without having all the nonesense. More like the same engine that talkcity uses, except its strictly for this site and registered users of course.
That would be cool to chat along with the others while checking out the site.
Just a thought...
Later for now..

Roemello 7-02-01, 01:26 AM We do have an official 80sXchange chatroom Mirrorball Man! Click on the 'Live Chatroom' link at the top of the page!
ah,,roemy
i think he means what i was thinking we need here, too.
a little instant messenger type thing in the corner of the screen, but have it in a way to be used so intruders can't get in like the skinheads racists of america group or something..lol
but a way you can still read the posts here without being in a chatroom. and then if you reply to someone's post, and they're online at the time, you can instant message them real quick before they leave for 4 days, and say 'check out what i wrote here'
(instead of having to find out their email so you can email them the page.) we dont know emails here, and some might not want that anyway.
it's fun to be instant messaging while you and someone are browsing the boards.
saying 'check out this post. its great!'

(i think that's what he means)
oh, and icq doesnt work well with me, and i think some others agree.
it slows down everything, then kicks me off the whole net sometimes, and i have to restart my computer. it takes up too much memory.
MSN instant messenger is great. no speed or memory space loss, really.
but you have to get a hotmail account for that. it just comes with it.

Roemello 7-12-01, 04:14 PM Well, most of us actually do browse the boards and chat in the chatroom at the same time, so it's to the same effect We also have AOL Instant Messenger which anyone can sign up for although since the inception of the chat, it hasn't been needed all that much
ah, ok I get it.
but in the chatrooms, if you're trying to read the boards and talk, is there a way not to have choas..-a whole 'plethora' (lol) of different people at once trying to chat with you?
i'm kind of on and off the boards as I'm in other places on the net, so it's easy to use instant messaging..lol
yeah, i prefer msn inst. message too.
but i dont think everyone else does
