Does anyone a song from the mid-80's containing lyrics that are similar to "I have a telegram in my hand" or "I found a telegram in the sand"? It seems to me that there was a "God Bless America" refrain also, although it was so long ago, I can't really remember clearly....

Alright Emogin. You asked this question almost a year ago but I believe the song in question is Telegraph by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.

Starts off:

"I got a telegraph
In my hand.
Words on paper
Written in sand."

It also includes the line "God bless America" later in the song.

My personal fave of all OMD songs. :)
