Did anyone see Nick's and Jessicas show? Do you think it is going to last? The show .. not them

America's favorite young married couple, Nick Lachey & Jessica Simpson, multi-platinum artists known from their hit MTV series, Newlyweds, star in their first-ever television special, featuring a fun-filled variety hour of music and comedy.

In a throwback to the days of Sonny & Cher and The Carol Burnett Show, the beloved Nick & Jessica breathe new life into the variety format, showcasing their singing and comedic talents in a series of sketches and musical performances with such guests as Jewel, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Kenny Rogers, baseball Hall of Fame star Johnny Bench, Mr. T, and The Muppets stars Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.

The musical performances include a duet with Jessica and Jewel, who sings her classic song, "Who Will Save Your Soul," and a duet with Nick and Babyface singing the Stevie Wonder classic, "For Once in My Life." Jessica will also perform "Islands in the Stream" with the legendary Kenny Rogers. Comedy sketches include a hilarious skit with Mr. T, and Jessica and Nick dropping in on Kermit and Miss Piggy, who are taping their own variety show. Also, Nick's hometown hero, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, drops in to teach Nick & Jessica how to hit like a pro. Jessica will also perform her new hit single, "Take My Breath Away."

I caught the first 10 minutes of it and I HAD to change the channel.. it was soooo lousy.. sometimes Jessica is so dumb that she's funny... in this show... she was just dumb. And so was Nick!

I watched the last 45 minutes of this show and it was actually funny. I don't see it lasting for very long but I did actually find it amusing.

I cought a few of their skits and I thought they were not as bad as the reviews. It was perfect campy variety show...I thought it was funny...My only worry is every time Jessica sang she twiched and shook like something was wrong with her. I mean come on Nick sang with Kit from NightRider...how was that not funny?

Is this on cable or reg. TV? I'd try watching it. I dont believe Jessica is stupid. I've seen interviews with her from a few years back and she seemed very well spoken back then. She was doing an anti smoking campagne. The stupid thing is definately a publicity stunt that is working like a dream. She's no dummy. Anyway, I will try to catch this.

I actually really like this show. I think that Jessica is very misunderstood. A lot of people see her as being stupid, but i've seen her in interviews and she is far from being stupid. A lot of people are like that after their parents do everything for them, which is why I am glad my parents taught me to be independent from an early age!

When you hit the level of "variety show" you might as well pack it in--variety shows almost always suck and they signal a last-ditch attempt to pull yourself up out of the mud

Yeah, Carol Burnette would agree!

Anyhow, I didnt watch it, since I had to work, but she has got to be the single goofiest chick on the planet.

But, they were GREAT on Saturday Night Live earlier this season.

Jasper, for you to mention Jessica Simpson in the same sentence as Carol Burnett is probably the most heinous insult to carol I've ever heard. Carol has more comedic talent in the nail on her little toe than Jessica has in her entire family.

Besides, Carol's show is the RARE exception for variety shows....or have you forgotten the "Brady Bunch Variety Show"?

I wasnt saying that Jessica Simpson was on the same PLANET as Carol Burnette, I was pointing out that there are decent variety shows in the history of TV. Sonny and Cher, Carol Burnette, Laugh In, Flip Wilson Show, The Mandrell Sisters Show, Hee Haw, etc. I never meant to imply that JS was anyplace near that level of entertainment.

No, I didn't see the show (I took a nap last night), but I think it'll be on for a while.

It's on ABC--not cable TV.

Some of the skits were funny, for example when she was fantasizing being on the Mickey Mouse show.

GOD, THIS WAS SO DAMNED STUPID!

I have hated Jessica Simpson every since that stupid Newlyweds show, and this just caps it all off. Well, to be honest her god-awful rendition of "Take My Breath Away" capped it off but this just adds to it.
