Does anybody know how I would file taxes, if one of my employers last year went out of business, and I cannot get my pay information from them?

Hi Jasper. If I were you I would contact the IRS and ask them for any information they might have on helping you out with that. Do you have your last paycheck stub from that company? That might help them in your search? I'm not really sure if this can help but here's their website...

Even if they went out of business, they're obligated to provide you with your tax information. They have until Jan. 31st to provide you with it. Didn't they have an accountant? Try contacting the person who did their books/payroll and see what's up. :)

As Val said, even if the company you worked for went out of business, they are obligated by law to supply you with your W2 forms so you can furnish them for your tax return, Jasper! :)

Well, I was gonna say the same thing. It is against the law for them to neglect sending you that information. If you don't have your W2's by January 31st contact the IRS. I'm sure you'll get them shortly there after...:lol: :p
