View Full Version : Looking for a Song
Bennys Boys 1-26-01, 04:52 PM There was a song I used to listen to back in 1983 or 84. I am trying to find it but am having no luck. Thought I might ask for some help. The only two things I remember from the song is that it was sung by a male lead and some of the chorus lyrics go like this:
"Into the night we're on the run, into the night we've just begun, we've got to prove what we can be, tonight!"
That's what I remember. any help would be greatly appreciated.

SurlyOne 1-26-01, 08:16 PM Sorry, that one doesn't sound familiar. The first thing that came to my mind was "We Are The Young" by Dan Hartman, but the lyrics are completely different. Any more clues from the song? Can you remember any more lyrics?
Bennys Boys 1-29-01, 04:25 PM SurlyOne,
Thanks for the response. Unfortunatly, I don't remember much more. If you could hear it playing over and over in my head, maybe you could help me find it. As far as more words in the chorus I do remember a couple of things. First, the first two times they sang the chorus, they only sang it once. On the third time, they repeated it. I will try to give some more words, but my memory is shaky.
"Into the night we're on the run, Into the night we've just begun, baby tonight, we've got to prove what we can be, because the night has just begun, baby tonight, (Repeat)."
I do not remember any of the other lyrics.
Thanks for your help.

Is it "ON THE LOOSE" by Saga? That sounds like some of the lyrics, but I can't be certain.

Bennys Boys 2-02-01, 08:21 PM Jasper,
That is a great song, in fact it is one that I had forgotten about, but it's not the one that is haunting me. I continue to replay those few words in my head hoping that more will reveal itself.
Have a great weekend.

87 Shark 2-03-01, 02:12 AM Hey, I know this one!
It's "We Ride Tonight" by The Sherbs.
Goes like this: "Into the night/we're on the run/baby tonight/we've got to prove what we can be"
A couple of their other songs you might remember are;
"I Have the Skills" & "No Turning Back" (They'll be no turning back)
I liked this group back in the 80's and still listen to their stuff to this day.

Bennys Boys 2-05-01, 02:18 PM 87 Shark,
You are a life saver. As soon as I read your email I knew that was the song. This has been bothering me for about 4 years. I owe you one. Can I send you some electricity or something?

87 Shark 2-10-01, 03:08 AM BB, glad to help.
Maybe someday you can help me out when I'm stumped.
I'm surprised Surly One didn't answer this one first - he knows 'em all.
BTW, my electricity hasn't been shut off yet.
Maybe it's because I live in a semi-rural area that's sparsely populated and doesn't use much power.
Speaking of Electricity, when I was driving home tonight in semi-slow moving traffic, lightning hit a speed limit sign about 30' in front of me and to the right.

Bennys Boys 2-13-01, 02:13 PM 87 Shark,
It sounds like you had an exciting ride home. We don't get much lightning in Minnesota, but I have some snow and cold to spare. Just let me know where you would like it sent.
