In the '70s, I watched Captain Kangaroo on CBS.

Keeshan will be missed. :(

Aww :( That is so sad. I used to watch him all the time. He was more a part of my childhood than Mr. Rogers.

This is very sad news indeed! :( I was an avid watcher of his program when I was little.

I have lost Captain Kangaroo, Mr Rogers and Jim Henson in my lifetime :(

And I miss your smiling avatar!

Captain, you'll be greatly missed by babyboomers to GenXers. Rest in peace.

I remember when I was in first and second grades, I used to watch the Captain while I was eating breakfast before school. I wish they'd put those old shows into syndication for our kids to watch.

This is indeed sad news. Like many of you here, I grew up watching the antics of the Captain, Mr. Greenjeans and the practical-joke loving Moose! There's a special spot in heaven for someone who brought so much happiness and joy to the lives of untold millions of children over the years... :(

I just saw this in the paper this morning. Two American Icons of children's television gone within a year. Captain Kangaroo, you will be missed. :rose:

Is it right that he was only in his 70's when he died?

Wow, I thought he was that old when I used to watch him in an "earlier decade than the 80's hahahaha

Yes... What an American Icon that will be missed!
