Thought I'd better let everyone know of my probs with moving. I'm back in Oregon as of yesterday. The school I was supposed to be going to waited till I got there to let me know of a problem with my financial aid. It didn't cover all of the costs and they wanted to me to pay the rest upfront before I could start classes. Just wasn't able to come up with a way to do it. Pretty pissed that they didn't let me know in advance. I would have spent the money to get out there if I had known. :grrr: So I'm back home having to rethink all of this. For now, I'm just going to take some classes at the community college and go from there. Just not really happy about all of this. Been a very stressful week. Even caused a couple of panic attacks. Hopefully I'll befeeling better about everything soon.

Geez... that sucks ass something terrible. Sorry to hear the bad turn of events. Financial Aid offices can kinda suck though... they seem to always manage to screw something up :p

Financial aid (insert razzberry here!) I am so sorry about this. The only upside is that if you are at a good, accredited community college, that's a great, inexpensive way to get some of your gen-eds out. Good luck, hon

Oh Jazzy, I'm so sorry. I hated dealing with the financial aid people when I was in college, and now I'm dealing with them with my son. I hope things work out for you soon, Honey. :rose:

Aww..sorry Jazzy. :rose: That is so not right! Let off some steam by calling financial aid perosn at that school and telling them off. Then sit back and try to make the best of everything. ;)

Jazzmyn,

You keep you chin up!!!

This is just a minor set back, YOU will find away to make you dreams come true. Just an encouraging note. The difference between Successful and the Unsuccessful, is what KEEPS THEM FROM THEIR GOALS and DREAMS. Don't you dare let this keep you from pursuing your goals. I agree that they were very UNPROFESSIONAL :bs: :grrr: in the way they handled your situation.

When a door closes... JUMP THROUGH A WINDOW!!!!

I know you will make it happen!!! good luck to ya!

I have to agree with TC and I would give the financial aid office at that school a piece of my mind. I would explain to them that you had to move from the West coast to get there. I'd also see if there was any way to take some legal action against them. I'd at least get the college to pay for the expenses that you had to pay to go back to Oregon. It just doesn't seem fair.

I hope everything turns out for the best. Remember, everything happens for a reason. Just glad to hear you made it back safe & sound. Good luck, girlie!! :)

That's a pretty crappy way of handling things! They could have at least had the decency to let you know over the phone.

You still have us though. :)

They should have let you know of any problems as soon as they found them! To wait until you showed up there was totally out of line. :mad: I hope you feel better about things soon, Sis. {{{hugs}}}

That's flucked up with what happened. I got hosed last semester with the Financial Aid issue and the bill.

I do think going to a Community College is a great idea though. I went to one and loved it. Enroll and take the GenEd classes like the English, Math, and Science to get them out of the way for much cheaper. Then have them transfered to where you want to go. If you are still interested in going back to that school, spend the Spring Semester and Summer to make sure things are straight and I would make sure you have something documented so that you don't have an issue like that again.

Jazz! Honey I feel so bad for ya!

I was supposed to start my schooling last week, but when I went to do the final paperwork, they still hadnt gotten my high school transcripts. (I got my GED in 1989) so I couldnt enroll, now I have to wait until the summer semester.

Hope everything turns out okay for you!

I totally know your situation. A couple of years ago, I applied to go UC Davis in Northern CA and I was excited to go into polymer chemistry, but their financial aid package was a miserable amount to the point where I couldn't afford to move to a farm town :p If there was anything I regretted then was turning down UCLA and UC Irvine. I'm at a good University now, though, so I know if you persist you will reach your goal. Hang in there. Really. Do hang in there.

:( Well that stinks Jazz. I'm so sorry about what happened, but you know we're all pulling for you.:rose:
I'm a firm believer in there's a reason for everything that happens, even if it doesn't appear to be what we want to happen at the time. I've seen it too many times in my life how things not turning out how I'd like them to at first eventually brought something even better than I could have imagined. Hang in there, and one day you'll be able to figure out why things happened this way, even if it sucks eggs right now.;)

:( That bites, Jazzy. I've been having problems with financial aid myself, at the moment. But things will get better. :D
