This is a weekly thread I will post every Friday just for the hell of it. It will look back through the '80s at all the #1 songs each year based on the Friday I post them on. This is the layout I will use:

Year in reference (Week of chart used for aforementioned year):
"Song Title" - Artist/Group (First week aforementioned song reached #1 --- number of weeks spent at #1)
Week used in list as related to aforementioned song's total number of weeks at #1

AND NOW, OUR WEEKLY TRIP BACK IN TIME FOR AUGUST 10th THROUGH THE 1980s:

I wish i had all those songs on one cd. Those brought back alot of memories. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks DBR86! The 1984 entry brings back great memories of lying on the floor in my living room when I was 9, eating a Pudding Pop and watching the syndicated video hits show every day at 4:30 pm <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> (we had no cable, hence no MTV, until I was almost 13!)
