Hello everyone (and no, I've never really watched Monty Python). I'm a friend of outofplacechild from toonzone.net. He emailed me months ago about this place; I came, I registered, I let things go while digging through the archives. Then earlier this month another bbs to which I started posting only after reading all the archives went down about a week after I started posting, so I figured I'd better get on the ball here; there'll be plenty of time to go thru the archives & in the meantime if I make any mistakes here someone can just tell me. Anyway, I was born in 1973, so most of my most significant & fondest memories are of the '80's: dawning of political awareness (which I won't bring up but on which I might comment if someone else brings it up); waiting for 5th grade to start in the gym with all of 5th & 6th grade while pumped over the system was such as "Our House" by Madness, "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, or my favorite, "Putting On the Ritz" by Taco; watching numerous things on the tv such as Transformers, GIJoe, Rambo (the tv series), M.A.S.K., Wheeled Warriors, A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Knight Rider, Automan, Blue Thunder, Street Hawk, Lottery, etc. My interests are many & varied --- cartoons past & present, music (pop, country, gospel, etc.), --- but above all I'm an historian so nothing's before my time. I've always had a love for the '80's & I'm looking forward to being a part of this community. I might not be here that much as I'm also on the TTAFF ml, toonzone, different ngs, & fan communities for numerous '90's WB toons; but I'll always come back here &, now that I think of it, I'll be here more often that I thot I would. Did that make any sense? I'm pretty good @ confusing people too. Anyway, hello everyone & I'm looking forward to lots of fun times here & abouts.

Well, thanks for the replies, everyone. Daffy (can I call you Daffy?), sure you can call me Nat; it's been my nickname of choice since 1st grade, tho I've also been called Nathan, Nate, Nate the Great (after some kid detective; I prefer Encyclopedia Brown), Natster Disatster, Natrolane, Natterlonie, & I've probably forgotten some. Sarg, I do have fond memories of Street Hawk; I know Joe Regalbuto better from there than from Murphy Brown. And there's a bunch of other shows I didn't mention back there. I've seen your bios of '80's acts & as an historian of many subjects including r&r I'm very interested. OOPC, you were right about this place. Well, I've had other commitments, but hopefully I'm back. Look forward to many more posts now that I've returned. Cy'all.
