View Full Version : "The Apple" bites!

Today on one of the Showtime digital networks, I saw a movie that was the cinematic equivalent of a car crash.

It was a movie from 1980 called "The Apple". It was a movie about two singers/lovers who are nearly torn apart by success and forces conspiring against them.

Sounds simple, right? Too bad the movie sucked.

It was a bizzaro pastiche of sci-fi and musical, set in that futuristic year of...

1994!

A strange time, like 1984 only with the Two Minutes Hate replaced by an hour of Jazzercise.

The costumes...Freakish.

The songs...Lame beyond compare. (Hard to believe lyrics were written by George Clinton of P-Funk)

The acting...The only good person in the cast is the much-missed Catherine Mary Stewart. Damn, she was a real 80s babe. She's the only good thing in this otherwise sucky movie.

Anybody else ever seen this?

Sincerely,
