Went to see DM in concert in Manchester on Saturday. Great gig, a nice balance of old and new material. They started off with Easy Tiger and The Sweetest Condition. Old favourites like Halo and Personal Jesus soon followed. However the biggest cheer of the night was a rousing rendition of Enjoy the Silence which everyone sang to a man. Further Exciter tracks included Freelove and Dream On. They also did four tracks off Songs Of Faith and Devotion and Its No Good. Suprisingly they did Clean as part of the encore and finished off with Never Let Me Down Again. Other DM fans please reply with their experiences of DM concerts.

I saw DM in concert on September 23rd and it was an awesome concert. The first thing I noticed was that the audience was aged 25-45 which I thought was rather wicked! :) The second thing I noticed was that I’m not the only one stuck in the 80s!! People had come to party and party they did – for two hours!
The boys (ahem :D) played a total of 7 tracks from Exciter. The audience went berserk as the boys played Enjoy the Silence, I Feel You, and Personal Jesus. 66,000 hands reached up while the audience sings “Reach out and touch faith”. At that point even Andy is jumping up and down like a teenager on speed! Dave was as superb as ever and I had serious flashbacks to my first DM concert in Brussels on February 21, 1988! What energy! About halfway through Martin took over and performed a couple of ballads - probably not a bad idea since the atmosphere was really intense at that point, but in my humble opinion they overdid it slightly. The greatest surprise was the fact that they included a very soul- and forceful Black celebration as an encore! As in Manchester they finished off with Never Let Me Down and a sweaty Dave said : See you again next time. Undoubtedly! :)

Aaarghh...guys, I´m green with envy!
Had to leave out this tour as they weren´t playing our town this time and I simply couldn´t allow to spend some 50$ + traveling. :(
Hope the next album will be better again...to speak the truth, Exciter wasn´t that exciting for me, and 7 songs from that album... :D

Yup, it looks like Exciter was a slight let down. It seems to be the verdict from most of the DM fans I've spoken to about it. I dunno, it doesn't have that 'get up and go' thing like their aother stuff....still, I burn up when Graham casually says he 'went to the concert on the weekend' aaahhhh!! I WANNA SWAP PLACES!!!!!!!! :D

I have to agree, Exciter was a let down for me as well. Infact, I didn't even enjoy their concert either. I saw them in June of this year in Philadelphia and was disappointed in the set list. I even left before the encore was over.
I hope their next CD is a lot better than the last one.
I think Exciter is a great album. I agree that it is very different from what one would have expected. I am sure all DM fans has an album that disappointed them. For me that album is/was Songs of Faith and Devotion.
