Well I heard this song recently and my jaw dropped. She's using a sample from a band called Spirit who had a hit entitled "Fresh Garbage" in 1968. I loved this song and didnt like the idea of anyone ripping a sample from it. I hate to admit it but its growing on me. Anyone else like this song or hate it for that matter?

Thats the trouble with alot of music/pop charts these days, they have to nick samples from just about every song from the past! Have todays "chart stars" simply ran out of ideas of their own these days?

I haven't heard this one yet. I only know one Spirit song "I got a line on you", so I probably wouldn't recognize the other one as a sample.

BTW, I'm a fan of sampling as long as it's done well.

Well, I actually like a lot of Pink's stuff....but I don't like this song. So DJ will more than likely LOVE it!

I like Pink's "Feel Good Time"! I didn't know there was a sample of a song from the '60s! I think Pink is pretty cool and I've enjoyed all of the singles released from Mizundastood. :thumb:

I like most of Pink's songs, and I think she's pretty talented, but I did NOT like 'Feel Good Time'. :p

On the subject of samples etc...guys!
I,ve only just discovered that, that song which was number 1 last year by Nelly & Kelly - Dillema, is in fact a complete rip off of an old soulful love song by Patti Labelle which i heard the other day on a soul radio show!
When i heard it, i could believe my ears & instantly thought of Nelly & Kelly's tune from last year and how much "Dillema" has actually used/sampled/ripped off her tune!

What on earth has happened to originality in the pop charts these days?
Have todays so called "chart stars" simply ran out of ideas of their own these days?
It would seem to me that all the best & most original music that is around these days is the underground stuff that never get's into the pop charts!

Just to let you know Tony, Patti LaBelle helped Kelly Rowland on that song. I wouldn't call it ripping her off when they have her blessing. I can understand where you're coming from but these days you have to have permission to sample or you will get sued. These artists being sampled are all for it because they get paid for these songs. Plus it might turn a new generation on their old songs.

O.K then DJ Daffy, i well & truely stand corrected!
I suppose the older music stars have to help this generation of "pop stars" with writing songs, coz quite simply - they don't have a clue!

I didn't like Pink when she first came out, but after she released "Get The Party Started", she grew on me.

Her new song is so good!

Haven't heard it yet, but to be honest, I hardly ever listen to radio nowadays except for sports talk radio. And if It isn't that its CDs or 80s internet radio. :)
