Many of you have inquired about the status of the draft order. I have asked one of our esteemed and impartial 80sXchange admins, Roem, to do the drawing and he has graciously agreed. He will do a drawing soon and post the order here for all to see. Then I will use this order to process the draft.

Sound good? Many, many thanks to Roem for his help!

Just a question, and I don't even know if the situation would ever arise.

After the draft order is chosen, if two or more players decided they would like to trade their draft placement with each other are they allowed.?

example Prefab has the number 10 spot and AMK has number 14. Amk decides he would like to be lower in the draft hoping to pick up a certain player. Prefab like number 14, so he can pick twice in a row, would a switch be allowed.

or the other option would be , a player want to draft higher so they offer to trade their pick plus a player in lower round and end up losing a pick and taking someone later in free agency

ex . Nolan has number one pick, Caligula has number 10. Cal offers Nolan to Trade picks in the first round and to give him his 3rd round pick. this would give Nolan , the number 1o pick in the first round, and the number 1 and 10 pick in the third round. On the other hand, Caligula would have the number 1 pick in the first round and no pick in round number 3, and would have to pick a player up later off free agency to fill his roster

Nothing! We really have no plan in place for trading of draft picks. The limitations of the yahoo system would make it virtually unmanageable.

There is no way to alter the draft order per round. The overall order keeps repeating back & forth until the draft ends. If any picks were traded, you'd have to use your traded pick to choose the player the other team wanted, all in 90 seconds. Also, you'd have to trust that the other owner would remember to pick the player you asked for. THEN, there's the matter of collecting your player after the draft, which would have to be done via another trade. Again, it would be solely a trust issue, since no team can be forced to trade players.

Our draft order is a "serpentine draft", meaning it runs 1-14, then back through 14-1, and 1-14 and so on. Trading picks would have much less impact in this type of draft anyway. If you are late in the first round, you'll be early in the second round.
