39 days, 7 hours, and 28 minutes til the draft (not that I'm counting) :D and I can't wait! I hope you guys & gals have done your homework, because I'm going to be as brutal in the draft as I'll be on the field this year. :ego:

How many owners are going to be able to be there in person? (Saturday, August 30 at 9:50 am CDT)

How does everyone feel about the draft order? Yahoo randomizes the order 30 minutes before the draft starts, but I'd like to know sooner where I'm gonna pick in the first round to formulate strategy. If you all would like to randomize the draft sooner and you trust me :p I can just use the old "pull the name out of the hat" method. I will have my wife monitor me for fairness. Trust me, she never lets me get away with anything. :lol:

I will be there for the draft this year, and you have my confidence in a fair draft. I say go for it, that way we can start planning that ever important first pick or perhaps workout a trade for draft spot. DAMN.....I cannot wait!

Aaaaaaanyway, moving on.

Everyone may have noticed that the Xchange Bowl is week 16 instead of week 17 this year. The reason is twofold: 1. Many NFL players have nothing to play for on week 17, and 2. I have something new in mind for week 17...an XFFL Pro Bowl! I have devised a way to track stats from week 17 and use them to have a Probowl of our league's best players. It will be East vs. West or something since we don't have conferences.
Based on where the owners live, it would break down like so: EAST - Bombers, Cowboys, Heroes, War Witches, Taz Devils, Steelheads, Lemmy Is God; WEST - Lost Not Last, Scooby Doobies, Colonels, SmegmaKings, Oppressors, St.Louis Tigers, Stoners

What is up with the "No Cut List" this season at Yahoo? I just noticed it last night when I was checking out the league.

So someone at Yahoo is going to decide that there are certain players that owners cannot cut from a roster at all????

Do the league commissioners have any input in this?

That's 3 questions. :lol: To answer them: I don't know, Yes, and No. :laugh:

They started that to keep teams who are losing from ruining the league by releasing good players late in the season. Not a bad idea for public leagues, but frankly I think any commish worth his salt could handle that situation in a private league. But they forgot to call me bfore they made that decision. It's something we are going to have to live with, you kinda take what you get in free leagues these days.

It does not, however, keep you from making any trades you like. I may, but yahoo won't.

One good point is, the No Draft List could keep someone from making a very stupid mistake. :D

It's almost here, folks! Who is going to be able to be there live? Remember to test your system in advance from the yahoo league page and try to log in to the draft at least 10 minutes early. These things start promptly and can move very fast.

Other reminders: This is a serpentine draft, it zig-zags 1-14, then 14-1 in the next round and so on. Also, you have 90 seconds to make each pick or the computer will pick for you, so keep up! :lol:
