Which is your favourite album by The Smiths/Morrissey  Awesome band which lasted for only a brief period of time in the early-mid 80s. They left a legacy and a template for bands like Idlewild, Suede, Kent, James, and other BritPop and Indie Rock bands.
What album do you think represents them the best
I chose their self-titled album. IMO every song on this album is fantastic. Reel Around The Fountain, What Difference Does It Make, Hand In Glove, Miserable Lie, etc.....I think this was another record I played 'till the grooves wore out! :)
Now that I think about it, didn't Hatful of Hollow pretty much have all the songs off of their first album with some BBC sessions??
Second choice would be Louder Than Bombs ;)

I've only heard two of their albums: Meat Is Murder and Louder Than Bombs. Between the two Meat Is Murder is my favorite.
Had to go with The Queen Is Dead. I think my whole junior year in HS I spent a lot of nights listening to that album. Not the whole album. If I wanted to listen to an entire album by The Smiths, I'd choose Meat Is Murder, but The Queen Is Dead had some very, very memorable tracks near and dear to me.

This one is tough!!!
I had to go for 'Queen' also. I have favourites on each of those listed, but probably, 'Meat Is Murder' is my least favourite.

I voted with "Strange ways here we come" :)
I like The Queen is Dead best. Maybe because it reminds me of a crazy summer in '88.:)
The first is still my fave.

Man, I'm having such a good time with these polls...
The Smiths are awesome, truly one of the best bands EV-ER.
I chose "The Queen is Dead" because technically speaking I think it's better than the others. But for nostalgia's sake alone it would have been "Hatful of Hollow" because it was the first Smiths album I ever bought. Vinyl, baby. British import (big deal back then). Summer of 1985. Musicland, Sunvalley Mall, Concord, CA.
