Tonight, I was going through some of my stuff and I started listening to some of my old audio tapes I have, and I rediscovered "Argy Bargy" by Squeeze (which I'm listening to right now)
I was just wondering how many people are fans of theirs and when did you first discover them?

Well, I discovered them in 1987 when I saw the video for "Hourglass" and I've been hooked on them ever since. I remember when I was younger hearing my sister listening to "Black Coffee in Bed" and "Tempted" but at that time I didn't know who Squeeze was. My favorite album from them is "Cossi Fan Tutti Frutti" and my favorite song is "Black Coffee in Bed". I saw them once in 1998 when they played at Lafayette Square here in Buffalo and remember Glenn Tilbrook having the whole audience sing "Black Coffee in Bed". That was one of the best concerts I ever been to. Now I have to go see Jools Holland (former keyboardist) if only he toured the US. *sigh*

Paul Carrack rules!! I first heard of them when I saw the video for "Black coffee in bed", it's still my favorite song by them.

Yeah, Paul Carrack is wonderful, but Jools Holland is the comic prince of keyboard playing. He has this style of playing the piano that just always makes me smile. He's also a great TV show presenter too. :)

Have you seen his programme "Later with Jools Holland". Its so good. Jools invites a number of musicians and bands on to his show and they play some of their own music but then, at the end, they end up having this huge jamming sessions.

One particular night Jools played with David Bowie, Jamiroquai, Erykah Badu and Eddie Reader from Fairground Attraction. Now thats what I call an Eclectic mix!!!!!

Yes, I've seen "Later With Jools Holland", and it's a great show. They used to play it on BBC America. Back in the late 80s Jools hosted a show over here called, "Sunday Night" I still remember he nicknamed his piano "Nigel Thingy". :)

I don't know Squeeze very well, but I've heard many of their singles. I think my favorite is Hits Of The Year, but I also like Black Coffee In Bed, Tempted, Annie Get Your Gun, and 853-5937 is really growing on me.

Dunno much Squeeze songs, but the ones I do know - I really like them. I do like the 70's atmosphere in Tempted and... in one of my first bands I covered Pulling Mussels From The Shell, great tune! Btw, more personal band info @ my website...
