View Full Version : new Megadeth album
Hey guys... just heard the New Megadeth album, "The World Needs a Hero".. it's very old Megadeth.. they are even comparing it to "Rust in Peace", calling it somewhat of a sequel.. There's even a song called "Return to Hangar" (sequel to Hangar 18).. I thought that song was just okay.. but the whole album is back to the old style that made metal great!!
They even complained that alot of producers wanted them to become more modern/alternative (i.e. Metallica), but they refused and self-produced the album the way it should have been all along.
Here is a great article about the new album..

I remember reading an interview with Dave Mustaine where he said this album was going to be a return to their heavier roots. I have heard one song from this new album so far and it is great! I'm glad to see that Mustaine wasn't just blowin smoke to promote album sales!!

I guess that means they'll be replacing us in your CD player, huh Tina? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//uhoh2.gif
I've been reading the autobiography of Aerosmith, and they have a little anecdote about Dave. This must have been during his drinking days. It seems that Megadeth was opening for Aerosmith on the "Permanent Vacation" tour, and Dave, when doing interviews, would say "Yeah, we think we oughta be headlining, but we don't mind because everyone knows this is Aerosmith's last hurrah."
Steve Tyler's quote was "So we told this f@#kin' guy, 'Dave, we'd like to help you out. Which way did you come in?'" Megadeth was immediately thrown off the tour. Hilarious! Man, Dave screwed the pooch on that one! Could you imagine how big 'Deth would have been if they did that whole tour? Then again....they might have felt the sting of stardom and sold out like Metallishit.

WHEW!
Tinajo,
i could always invite you to southern Illinois. We could find SOMETHING to do and call it an 80s party! There are plenty of bars around that we could find ONE that would be rocking some 80s music.
Just a thought!

If it weren't for my horse, I would have never spent that year in college!
djpromogirl1 2-27-01, 04:30 PM Good to hear they are returning to the heavy, cuz "Dancing on a Breadline" sucked bigtime. Very weak. Cryptic Writings rocked, but did'nt get near the airplay I thought it would. Hmmmmm. That gets me thinkin...if the new cd seriously rocks, then today's rock radio will probably (sadly) shelve it.

Can someone write the entire song list of the new album? So you know what to download from napster =)
I've never been a huge fan of megadeth but i'd like to check this out!
ROCK ON!

Mud.. when you go to Napster.. just pull up the name of the album.. "The World Needs a Hero".. guaranteed a user will have the whole album on there in order.
That's what I did.. and I just poked through them to see which songs I liked. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Yup... that's what i did.
I downloaded number 8 "Coming Home"...
Man...
it SUCKED.... i'm sorry you guys but that was one of the worst ballads ever!
Perhaps it was bad luck to get a ballad on the first try but really... man... I might have to delete that one, it was so lousy.

Sal Collaziano 3-07-01, 01:05 AM Hey. Even if you get it from Napster. Please buy the album. It helps support Megadeth - I wanna hear more albums! I haven't heard it yet - but I'm itching to!
