HEADLINE: HOT EDITED BY SEAN HAMILTON; OLD ROMANTICS IN NEW RECORD DEAL

BODY:
THE original members of Duran Duran are back together - and the former New
Romantics are poised to sign a whopping record deal worth GBP 25 million, Hot
can reveal.
For the first time in 17 years, the original line-up of singer Simon Le Bon,
guitarist Andy Taylor, bassist John Taylor, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and drummer
Roger Taylor are reforming for a nine-month world tour. Like Robbie Williams'
record-breaking deal, the Wild Boys' lucrative contract will take in records,
concert receipts and merchandise.
The band enjoyed huge success in the Eighties - and unlike so many of today's
British stars, they were adored in the US.
A music industry insider said: "Some people say Duran are Hot.
"When the guys sign the new huge record deal, people will really begin to
remember why they are such a great band."

$25 million pounds is worth over $40 million american
also with the hype duran duran will be getting it's looking more likely that
they will be doing another bond song just as what was reported a few months
back.

About time things start to happen...their new album is one of those rare times I'll actually go out and buy it as opposed to on-line :verycool:

wow, that's impressive for an act that was dropped by their former record label. let's face it, their last LP was pretty dreary. however, i did enjoy "somebody else, not me", and i still listen to the "medazzaland" every so often. i don't see why acts like U2 continue to generate so much publicity, while D2 are ignored!

the act that was dropped by their label was duran with simon and nick only and the fan's and label were not interested but the original line up thats a whole different story EMI has been trying to get them back together since 1991. i hope the original 5 make a strong comeback!

It's good to see some 80's stars getting some respect.I wonder which orignal members are part of this incarnation.
