View Full Version : Who left the door open?
Here is the cover of the new Iron Maiden album. I think this is one of the best album covers to date.

RetroMan 5-01-00, 10:38 AM My god that looks awesome - I wonder if it's Derek Riggs? I can't tell intil I get closer I have always admired the Seventh Son cover -this one is a true masterpiece. I think the river is supposed be the Thames?!?Eddie is back with a vengeance.
This is exciting stuff - do you know if Adrian Smith and Bruce have re-joined for the studio? The sound density of three guitars is going to sound amazing - I lived and breathed the Irons all though High School - they changed my life forever.

Not much fan of Iron maiden myself...but yeah good cover. Better than the Virual XI cover at least =)
My philosophy here in the words of dee snider regarding new metal fans:
"All the new people down here tonight think they're so ****in' not obvious. They think just because they got an Iron Maiden T-shirt on. Noone is gonna know they're a new person"
Something like that =)
I got a question though. Man, they were touring together with halford a little while, I bought a ticket faster than lightning, but all of sudden halford was no more and the substitutes where Slayer and Entoombed. Man I resold that ticket even faster than I bought it. Anyone know what happend to halford?

Rock 'n' Roll
Sal Collaziano 5-18-00, 02:55 AM Well, this may seem like a wacky question but.. Who's Halford?

What do you mean, Judas Priest seemed pretty cool? Without them there is no Iron Maiden. Turbo Lover and Defenders of the Faith were good, Screaming for Vengeance and British Steel were awesome. But, if you want raw Priest, get Unleashed in the East (Live In Japan). It was released at the height of disco's popularity. That album is what rock-n-roll is all about!!! Any fan of Rock or Metal or whatever should check this out!! The sound is nothing like their more popular albums. Also, check out Scorpions first album, Scarecrow, WOW!! Even Quiet Riot's first album (with Randy Rhodes) is kick a**!!!

Um, are you insinuating that MAIDEN was LESS of a band than Priest? Granted Priest was around way before, but that is like saying that without KISS there would be no ANTHRAX. Maiden has all kinds of talent, a better song selection, better musicianship, and a far more talented singer. They made thier mark without dressing like they were the house band at the Blue Oyster Bar.
Maiden never needed, nor accepted any "help" in any way from JP.

Sal Collaziano 6-01-00, 02:30 AM hehe Well, to be totally honest. I came into the music scene very late. I don't know much about Iron Maiden OR Judas Priest. I first started listening to heavy metal with Twisted Sister, then Ozzy, then straight to S.O.D. I did however buy the Number of the Beast album and liked it. I've never heard Powerslave.
I came from an Italian family that forbid me to have long hair. If they didn't want me to hear the music - I didn't.

Iron Maiden did NOT need anybody now or ever. They stand on their own when nobody else is around anymore (not as many anyway). Judas Priest, among others, played hard and heavy when most people were crying over the Beattles breakup. In the day, JP and IM were THE bands. I saw both of them a few times each. Man!! These were shows that you just do not forget. Sal wanted to know about Halford and JP, so I gave him some info. Sorry if I sounded like I was putting IM down, that was not my intent.
