Christine 2-10-03, 02:02 AM These are KILLER! I love the one with Allison on the front that says 'When you grow up, your heart dies'. I'd definitely wear that. :p
ImSoooSure 2-10-03, 02:26 AM I saw these when I went in the other day. I love seeing that stuff in there! I have a pretty good collection of 80s tees from Hot Topic. Looks like I have some more to add though. :D
Shortie Blonde 2-10-03, 03:52 PM I have the locker one...wearing it today. :D
outofplacechild 2-10-03, 05:59 PM Do the teenyboppers who wear these shirts have any idea what these movies are about and what decade they came from, or are they just doing it for the sake of irony?
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff...
At Hot Topic, you can be an individual...just like everybody else!

LOL Good one! I couldn't agree more.
A real freak makes his own clothing. :goofy: Or gets them from thrift shops.
Shortie Blonde 2-10-03, 07:22 PM I'm getting better on thrift shops...and my mom hates it when I chop up stuff and make it into other stuff.
I don't consider myself an individual because I shop at hot topic. I just am. I like the store, so I shop there. :p
angeleyes25 2-10-03, 07:36 PM I saw some 80's t-shirts at Hot Topic also but not the Breakfest Club or Sixteen Candles ones.I would definitly like to get those especially The Breakfest Club ones, unfortunantly I don't have any of those 80's shirts yet there kinda expensive $19.00 to $25.00 a shirt!I want to start saving up my money so I can at least buy a couple of them. The ones I saw were a white one with Revenge of The Nerds movie and a blue one with Saved by The Bell. This was at the store, not the website.Hey IMSOOOSURE what other 80's tees do you have from their?
I liked the tees, but didn't care for the chicks wearing them. I don't know what kind of statement they're trying to make, but it totally went over my head.
outofplacechild 2-10-03, 09:38 PM Shortie, I meant to end the whole post with a "wink" smiley just so I could show I was kidding. I forgot to, and I'm sorry.
You're not a teenybopper...I apologize for insinuating otherwise.
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff

I have a Billy Idol, Guns & Roses, Desperately Seeking Susan, Strawberry Shortcake, The Clash and Ramones tee shirts. I have some others from there but those are the 80s ones I can think of.
Hey, I think they should make a tee-shirt of OPC's comment, or a slight variation.
"I'm unique, just like everyone else!"
I like that!
It is funny to wonder if todays generation know about Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles... I remember in high school I loved The Monkees, The Beatles, Elvis and a bunch of others. I bet the adults were totally laughing at me and my friends too. :D
angeleyes25 2-11-03, 12:53 PM Wow,you have a alot of shirts.Do you wear them or do you mostly get them for a collectors item?if I had the money I would buy two of each shirt one to wear and the other to put away so I can show my grand kids one day when I'm old and gray. I see that they have alot of band shirts from the 80's,let me know if you ever see a Def Leppard one!
P.S. I too liked the Monkees when I was younger.

I wear them all! :D
I wear color shirt's. I don't have any word's on them.
Today's youth does no some thing's of the 80's. I asked this one girl and she likes the breakfast club.
Most people I work with are super poser's, who are up with the hood yo, They be kicking it to higha gear, So don't be tripping them yo.
Most listen to modern rock.......yuck........it sound's repatiative, the same.
I love those shirts, but they are usually too #@$% small! I think I will try their "plus size" store, Torrid. (it's about time!!) We have one of those at Emerald Square now. I would love a Rainbow Brite hooded sweatshirt.
I saw some Fraggle Rock shirts in the window at Delia's the last time I was in the mall. Dance your cares away!

If I bought my own clothes she wouldn't mind, but she has to buy them. If I bought something that wasn't a necesity (sp?) then she'd not mind...but I have no job and no money.

THANK YOU, Mary! ;) I had no idea they finally made a "plus size" store. I am not really "plus size," (I'm just not a teenager) - and Hot Topic's sizing makes me crazy. Have you noticed they are always out of the larger sizes, too? I know they exist there as I find them sometimes - I think most girls are not as tiny as most of those clothes so our sizes go faster. It makes me feel better anyway, LOL! )
Anyway, I will check this new store out - tho I haven't seen one around here yet. Maybe they have an online store, or will soon.
Thanks again!
angeleyes25 2-14-03, 12:40 PM Hey Samboragirl they do have an online store it's www.torrid.com
You're welcome Samboragirl :) I'm not exactly "plus size" either but I am a grown woman. Even when I was a teenager I wouldn't have fit into those clothes in a million years. I didn't know about Torrid myself until I wandered by it at the mall. Now I can get my long-wanted Grumpy Bear sweatshirt at last!
ImSoooSure 2-24-03, 08:21 PM When I was at the apparel mart last week I stopped by a Barbie tee-shirt booth. They told me Hot Topic will be carrying the entire Barbie logo tee-shirt line in the next few months. I know not a lot of you are into Barbie but I'm excited to see these hit the stores. They were really neat designs. :)
We're getting a Hot Topic at our mall here in WV. :D Now Gadzooks will have some competition.
Shortie Blonde 2-24-03, 11:42 PM Hot Topic is better than gadzooks :D...Teddie likes it better too.
outofplacechild 2-24-03, 11:43 PM Do guys shop in Hot Topic?
I'm asking because I'm thinking of breaking down my oath and maybe scoring a few "Scarface" t-shirts.
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff
Ted Nugent 2-24-03, 11:58 PM It's alright there. If I were you, OPC, I'd pop in there and buy those shirts. I did like their shirts. :D Just not all that "mall leather." :yucky:
ImSoooSure 2-25-03, 03:13 AM A lot of guys shop at hot topic. In fact more guys than girls I know do. Go for it John. Those shirts sound cool.:)
They have lots of guys' clothes in there. Especially the t-shirts. I wanted to get my husband a Thundercats shirt for Christmas until he told me he wouldn't wear it outside the house. I was like "Why not??" I think I was wearing my Rainbow Brite at the time, LOL.
If you like it, wear it! Clothes should be fun.
...she says while wearing one of her most boring work outfits *and* high heels. :D

That mall leather's cheap, which means I have money for it on my own...since my parents refuse to buy me that stuff. :p
