View Full Version : Rock Stars In The Movies
Iluvthe80s 10-19-01, 11:01 PM Okay, here is a new trivia game. The object is to answer which music performer was in the particular movie listed. The performer doesn't have to necessarily be 80's, nor does the movie. One or the other or both will have some kind of ties to the 80's. The artist or artists can be either be performing music onstage in the movie or acting in the movie. Good luck!
1. The Wedding Singer
2. The Hunger
3. La Bamba
4. Strangeland
5. Shanghai Surprise
6. Thelma and Louise
7. Hard To Hold
8. Valley Girl
9. Light Of Day
10. Sid And Nancy
11. Runaway
12. Brimstone And Treacle
13. Under The Cherry Moon
14. Dogs In Space
15. The Wiz
16. Running Out Of Luck
17. The Wall
18. Detriot Rock City

outofplacechild 10-19-01, 11:43 PM Oh, yeah! I forgot:
8.) Elizabeth Daily
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff
P.S,
Hmmmm-Somewhere along the way, I crossed the 300-post mark. Congrats to me! :D
Iluvthe80s 10-20-01, 12:34 AM On #8 I was actually thinking of Josie Cotton, but you are right about Elizabeth Daily so that one will count. All the rest are right. This is what is left now: 3, 6, 10, 16, and 19.
wavemaster 10-20-01, 03:15 AM #3 Richie Valens (Lou Diamond Philips?)
#10 Sid Vicious and Nancy Splungen
...I guess... :D
Iluvthe80s 10-20-01, 03:17 AM Hint for ya wave. #3 was a lead singer for an 80's band, then had a big career in the late 90's with another band. #4 was a wife of a famous 90's grunge bands lead singer.

I really should stop that habit of getting up before Iīm awake... :)
djdaffy1227 10-20-01, 08:01 AM #3 Brian Setzer as Eddie Cochran (great casting) and Marshall Crenshaw as Buddy Holly (again, great casting)
#19 AC/DC

Sorry, wave I meant to put #10 instead of #4. #10 is right Courtney Love. I'm not keeping up to good. LOL
#3 and #19 is right, dj! Now it just leaves #6 and #16 to answer.
Caligula 10-20-01, 01:37 PM 3) La Bamba - Los Lobos
10) Sid and Nancy - Courtney Love
16)Running out of Luck- Mick Jagger
Iluvthe80s 10-20-01, 01:45 PM Correct, caligula. I forgot Los Lobos was in there. I was thinking of Brian Setzer, but that is also correct. You answered the other two correct also. Now that leaves #6. This one will be very tough for a lot of you. Here is one hint: the singer or band was performing in a bar that Thelma and Louise went into.
outofplacechild 10-20-01, 03:58 PM I used the Internet Movie Database and I came up with Charlie Sexton for #6. Does my answer count?
Sincerely,
John "outofplacechild" Kilduff
Iluvthe80s 10-20-01, 10:24 PM Correct, John! This finishes this game.
Dang, Stacy, I missed this one!! It looks like fun, too!! Maybe when you get time you could make up another, or one something like it? :)

I come up with these trivia quizzes every Friday evening for the weekend. I will also add a new 80's biography too in the biography forum.
Kiss member Gene Simmons starred in Runaway (1984).
I think Simmons starred as a mastermind of a group of rebellious robots in that movie.

Josie Cotton is totally right. I remember going out to buy the 12" right after I saw Valley Girl.

I saw it as a kid, so I didn't remember the whole thing, but every time I ask someone if they know it, they say they've never heard of it!! I began to think it must have been a Hardy Boys episode. TY!!
