I've been getting a lot of migraines lately. Found out yesterday the new meds my dr put me on are way to expensive. $91 for 6 pills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigeek: :bigeek: Wondering if anyone knows of any natural remedies. Willing to try anything at least once here. ;)

Have you tried feverfew, Jazzmyn? I get migraines as well, and my doc prescribed Maxalt for me. $100 for 6 wafers, thank God for my prescrip card from work. But they actually do work, so I'm not going to bitch. I was going to try feverfew if these wafers didn't cut it.

I'll have to try that. I don't have any insurance to help me out right now.

Are you drinking Diet Soda's?

Aspartame can cause nasty Migraines.

So can MSG, Nitrates and certain cheeses.

I used to get them alot until I started writing my food intake in a journal and started putting 2+2 together.

i get migraine often too myself but i get fiorinal for them

I can't give up cheese!!! lol One of my fave foods. Doing a little better now. Getting some sleep has helped a lot. My headaches were much worse while battling insomnia. On something for that now too. lol Only take that twice a week though.

I don't get them, but my friend got bad ones from caffiene. Sorry Jazzy...I know you're not giving that up either! :p

Hey this might sound nuts-but from experience.. Ask your physician about oxygen, In large doses it does relieve migranes.

Princess, try some Advil Migraine. Kicks them right out when I get them. Takes about 15-20 minutes, but then they're tolerable.

lol Tried that Pagan. Nothing over-the-counter will touch my migraines. Thanks for the thought though. :*

That's what I was going to say also, Pagan. Two fo those and mine are gone relatively quickly.

A friend of mine just started on a new med for migraines. Called topamax, Was originally for siezures, but works wonders on migraines. She hasn't had a headache at all since starting on it. Going to ask my dr about it.

When i get Migraines they usually start with flashing lights in my eyes,at that point i take 4 aspirin STRAIGHT AWAY and that usually keeps the pain associated with them from coming.....

No other way to deal with them i dont think.......
