*squeals with delight*
I just e-mailed one of my new faves of the 80s, Midge Ure (former lead singer of Ultravox, and very talented musician). I was surfing the web earlier and stumbled on his official web site (I can't remember the URL), and there was a section where you could e-mail Midge. I took the plunge and e-mailed him. I hope I get a response. If I do you people will be the first to know.
I've e-mailed a few celebrities in the past. I even got a couple of responses . I always feel funny e-mailing celebrities, because I always think I'm sounding really dorky.
*about to collapse*
Time to put on "Reap the Wild Wind" again. :)

Well, I've e-mailed Chris Difford of Squeeze and Lee Haris of Talk Talk. Both responded personally.
I haven't gotten anything yet, and I know I won't for a while. It took forever for Chris Difford to write back, because he was very busy at the time.

I heard Midge has quite a bit of involvement with the official site and usually takes his laptop on tour for updates and stuff, so there is a higher than average chance of a responce. That would be totally cool Blue Molly - you will post it up here if you do, right?
I know what you mean about feeling dorky. It's the 'God' factor of the Celebrity that makes you feel like that, it's hard to think they're just like everyone else sometimes :)

RetroMan, I remember when I first e-mailed Lee Harris (well he e-mailed me first with a response to a question from an Talk Talk site he checks out once in awhile) I told him I kinds felt like a dork e-mailing him. He told me not to worry and (paraphrasing) "Don't be dorkin'".
I heard about Midge and his site, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've actually e-mailed a few professional wrestlers in the past year, so who is more dorky here :D They weren't even BIG names  I e-mail Jacque Rougeau (sp?), Lance Storm, and Sharkboy and all three answered me back :) I told Jacque about a time when he and Raymond wrestled in Erie and me and a friend of mine followed their rental car from the arena to a store just to get their autographs and he said he remembered that! When I e-mail Lance Storm I told him I was going to the wrestling show and I was gonna hold up a sign with his website on it and asked if he could acknowledge it somehow and lo and behold at the show he came out and pointed right at me :) My goodness, I am a dork  With Sharkboy I just told him he was too talented for the independents and should have been with a major company longer than his stint with WCW. Anyhow.....let us know when Midge writes you back.
