An update to my previous message.
Someone has asked to do a lecture on cryptozoology. Does anybody else want to do a lecture?
Someone has volunteered to sit on the panel to judge the Amanda Donohoe look-a-like contest. Anyother volunteers.
Someone has suggested a Sammi Davis look-a-like contest? Anyother suggestions for events?
There has been a question about the cost. At this time, I don't know how much it will cost, but we will try to keep it as inexpensive as possible.
There might be a couple of people coming from the Netherlands, so there was a request for a central location. I thought of London? Anyother suggestions for a central location.

A Sammy Davis look a like contest? He wasn't exactly an 80s Icon. Neither was Hugh Grant for that matter. Surely if there are going to be look alike contests for an 80s celebration more appropriate stars should be picked. I even question whether Amanda Donohue was a big star in the 80s.

As for me being there, unless I make a fortune in Las Vegas this Christmas, there's no way I can get there.

Suggestion for another location:

ST. LOUIS MISSOURI :)

I thought I had spelled the name wrong. It's Sammi Davis, the British actress, and not Sammy Davis the American actor.
They are included, not so much because they were icons of the '80's, but, because they appeared in a film that probably should be an icon of the '80's. And there might be a Catherine Oxenberg look-a-like contest, too.
If the film was made in Missouri, I would have no problem holding the even in St. Louis, but, because the film was made in the U.K., I wanted to hold the event closer to where it was made. I know this creates difficulties for anybody from North America, who may want to attend the event, but, if there is anybody in Europe on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, and maybe, Friday, October 10, they are welcome to attend.
At this time, the tentative site for the event is St. Margaret's Bed and Breakfast in London.
There has been another volunteer to sit on the panel to judge the Amanda Donohoe look-a-like contest. Anyother volunteers?
There might be another lecture on the history and iconography of horror films and one on a worm cult that existed in the U.K. until about 1928? Anybody else want to do a lecture?
We would like to get someone who is associated with the film. Anyone know anyone?
Any questions? Contact me at this message board, my web address, or andrews.claudia@aaa-texas.com.

Sorry about that misunderstanding. The Lair of the White Worm was a pretty unknown movie down here where I am. In fact I saw it on video and hated it. I can't actually see why anyone would want to celebrate its release. But now I understand about the lookalike contests. I had no idea who even acted in that movie. :)

Good luck on your event.
