Since I am sick, I didn't get to look up info for a different topic this week so we will continue with the drama genre. You are voting on the best drama movie of 1984 this week. Two weeks to vote as always. If you pick the "other" option, please write what movie you are voting for and type "other" next to it. This voting session will end on 11/16/02. Have fun! :)

I voted for Karate Kid, because it was the only movie on the list I saw, and I can't seem to recall any others that year.

Must be my old age catching up to me. :D

Karate Kid. Loved that movie. I saw that as more of an action or marshal arts movie though.

The only other one I've seen from that list is The Killing Fields, which bored me to tears.

I always figured the same as Reck as far as Karate Kid goes, but I'll vote for it....good flick :D

EDIT: Geez....I shoulda looked at all the options there....gotta give ups to Purple Rain too...though I think I liked the soundtrack more than the movie :p

I know the Karate Kid could be more of a action/martial arts movie. I base these on what IMdB.com says. Some movies can be in multiple genres, so that is why I added that one. ;)

This was one of those tough votes for me. I voted for Purple Rain because I really liked that movie. I also think Amadeus was a great movie as well.

Although I loved (and still love) the Karate Kid, Amadeus was the movie that had the most profound effect on me that year. I watched it over and over on VHS. Wolfie gets my vote. :thumb:

I voted for The Natural. Hard to beat a movie about baseball with great performances from Robert Redford, Glenn Close and Robert Duvall! :thumb:
