I got my boat inland for Isidore, and I am 600 miles from the coast now, but you guys still down there, watch out! I knew all that warm water was gonna light that thing up when it cleared Cuba. The worst part is, all the canals and storm drains are flooded from Isidore. I just talked to friend from my former hometown of Lake Charles, La, they are getting out of Dodge.

Mark my words this is gonna be bad.

I just saw on Fox News, it is already a category 4, with 135 mph winds. If you live on the gulf coast, GET OUT OF TOWN! Its not too late! Be safe!

I'm not sure if it is still going to hit bad in Port Arthur, TX or not. I did hear Louisiana was going to get it again. Be careful out there! We will probably see some rain out of it in the next few days here in Central Texas. I know it has been very humid here the last few days. That always happens when a hurricane is in the Gulf.

My thoughts and prayers are with all you in Lili's path. Stay safe.

Hopefully Lili keeps her distants. I'm leaving for Biloxi and Tunica, MS tomorrow. I'm hoping for a smooth non-eventful drive. :yikes:

Well it looks like it is going North into LA. Which is a good thing for me........I live on Galveston Bay.

No kidding, Sarge? I live only a few miles from Tunica. What days are you going to be there?

About Lili, it's coming through the Memphis area around Friday morning. It's supposed to be pretty intense even this far inland, not as much rain as Isadore, but lots more wind. I really hope that everyone down in Louisiana get somewhere safe!

This looks to be a pretty scary storm. Hope no one gets hurt in this.

WOW..this does not look good. :( I hope all get to safety. Any xchangers in the area of the hurricane, try to keep us posted on how you are.

I was watching the path it may take inland and it is predicted to head right to the Ohio valley.

Lili does look like a very bad girl! :bigeek: I hope everyone in its path remains safe and evacuates any low-lying areas. I've been through one category Four (Hugo in '89) and evacuated when Floyd came through in '99. They are very scary events...

OMG! I'm watching the Weather Channel right now and looking at the Alexandria Daily Town Talk online. The Parish schools where I lived are closed today as are the Avoyelles Parish schools which is where I worked. I was watching shots from Lafayette. My son went to school there last semester. The reporter was standing in the parking lot of the Hilton hotel in Lafayette. There is a canal that runs alongside of that hotel and the water in the parking lot was already up about two feet. This is scary. I'm glad it's been downgraded to a Cat 2. It could have been much worse.

They said it was donw ot a category 2 or 1 when it actually hit, that is good news, but it is still dangerous!

Sarg! Have fun in Biloxi, since it seems you are going gambling, you will actually be about 4 blocks from my grandparents house!
and up in Tunica, you are about a two hour drive from my hometown. Drive safe, and take care!

I didn't get to hear the news much this morning but I did hear of 90 m.p.h. winds. A lady I work with had some of her family down in Beaumont, TX evacuated and they came up to Killeen (about 50 to 60 miles north of Austin) until the storm was over.

Man, was I glad to be wrong on this. I have never heard of a one going from a 4 to a 2 in that short of time.

when you grow up down along the coast it is common knowledge, but most people haven't heard this. Per FEMA, the worst natural disaster in the US that can be predicted is a category 2 or better storm to direct hit New Orleans.

Would you imagine Lilli's been messing things around even as far inland as KENTUCKY? The remnants of the storm finally made it up here today, and we had some pretty gusty winds to go along with the rain. I was in downtown Louisville to hear a speaker earlier tonight, and we had to evacuate to the basements for a little bit because of tornado warnings.
