When I went to use my laptop, which uses email through a dialup ISP account to send an email to a couple of people, the email "couldn't find any matches for the addresses". Yet when I sent the same email through my cable ISP (using the same addresses I tried on the laptop), it went through with no problems as usual.

Both the dialup ISP account and the cable ISP account use the same email (Outlook Express).

Why would the cable ISP recognize the addresses while the dialup does not? Any solutions to this problem?

My laptop OS is Windows 98SE, IBM compatible.

Are both of these accounts through the same provider? If not, then it is possible that you are trying to send an e-mail through a different companies mailing system (it's called relaying and most ISP's don't allow it). Check out your mail configuration and make sure that you have both ISP's set up.

Where do I check the mail configuration?

Click on "Tools" from the menu bar, then choose "Accounts" from your menu. Once the window has loaded up, click on the "Mail" tab. You can check there to see if you have both ISP's set up or not.

I checked my mail configuration on both computers. Here's what came up (both use Outlook Express as the email)

The dialup and cable are different ISPs:

dialup: mail TYPE:mail(default) CONNECTION: any available
cable: mail@*****.net TYPE:mail(default) CONNECTION: any available

Try setting them to only use their own connections and see if that helps. Your cable connection is basically a network connection and probably won't allow you to hit your dial-up ISP's mailer.
