I just signed it. I had to include a shot at them for being too political, supporting the liberals too much.

Just signed it. You ever notice how MTV is big on censoring any reference to drugs, guns, or violence, and then turns around and fills the airwaves with a bunch of teenagers humpin' like bunny rabbits. Here is a lyric from a Papa Roach song as it appears on MTV:
Don't give a @#$@ if I #$@ my arm @#$@.
Of course you can't say the "F" word, but "cut" and "bleeding"? Give me a break. BTW, anyone been able to check out the VH1 Classics channel? Way, way cool. MTV2 is pretty good too. It used to be better when it was commercial free. At least they play music.

I signed the petition too, and I completely spouted off on MTV. You might want to check it out; I'm post #163.

(For the record: I can tolerate *NSYNC, Destiny's Child or Britney Spears in moderation, but that's the key word --- MODERATION. MTV features them in unbridled EXCESS.)

I don't know if any of you guys have noticed, but MTV is actually showing a lot more videos lately, much to my amazement. Usually when I'm thumbing through the stations and I click through MTV, there's always some boring show on, but I've been seeing videos now (usually not videos I want to see, however)... Maybe they are getting our message!

I noticed that too MDC...flipping through my channel guide, I've been amazed at how frequently I've actually seen the word 'Videos' come up next to MTV. Maybe they are finally getting a clue to some degree...

I´ve signed this petition in the hope that some of the 'wisdom' will also hit Europe then.

Since half a year ago, MTV Germany has replaced VH-1 with MTV2Pop, as it´s direct concurrent VIVA had taken over the lead in viewers.

VH-1 was by this time degraded to a merely rerun station, only few broadcasts were of a newer kind.

Now, you get Britney Houston, the Backstreet N'Syncs, Papa Bizkit and Techno projects which seldom bother to name themselves with more than three letters 24-24, not to mention all that Hip Hop-stuff. Other styles of music virtually doesn´t exist anymore.

MTV has sold itself to the entertainment and other interested industries, and if the responsibles continue licking the boots of those company execs, I wouldn´t mind fading it into oblivion one day. Personally, I haven´t watched MTV longer than 5 minutes anymore since they´ve buried VH-1.
