I love the way the profiles are looking! The only thing I would even consider changing would be the font size. I do agree it's a little small - BUT - then there would be more scrolling. So ya have to think about that too. I think it's fine for 95% of the people. So it should probably stay the way it is... I use a high screen resolution at home - so the text is small to me. I'll take a look at my office tomorrow (800x600) and I bet it will look perfect.

Otherwise, yeah I changed the front page a bit. Now you can see how many topics and messages have been posted since your last visit - AND it's more friendly for first timers. It encourages them to register. :)

Yes, the profiles do look perfect on 800x600...that's what I use and that's pretty much the standard size that the majority of people use.

As for version 3....I know...that should be fun :sneaky:

Actually I use a Resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels, so the Font is a bit too small for me and it hurts my eyes, then again 800x600 is too big a Resolution for me, but I'm the Minority it appears ;) oh well, I guess I'll live (I just won't be looking at peoples Profiles :p ) as for the changes to the Front Page, I think it's pretty good :) Good Job Sal. :thumb:

The on-line/off-line deal isn't too new...it's always been there, just in graphic form. I thought it's placement was cheesy and obscure, so I redid it this way...easier to see :)

I already plastered it on my sig :) :lol: As have I :) I like it a lot, although I found in messing with it that it doesn't work too well(the glow effect) on single words in a sig as it does a whole sentence, it spaces the single word between two lines :( even if you put the glow effect between a sentence, oh well. I like it anyways :thumb:

I know...it's a DHTML thing using div tags that does that. But it's pretty funky all the things you can do without use of graphics with DHTML :cool: Just a little added fun ;)

Anyway, as for how to do them, as I said, I'll add 'em to the faq at some point. Of course their for all to use :) Just don't go TOO overboard ;) For now, here's a quick reference to a couple of the more popular...(just take out the * when you put in the code ;))

GLOW
[glow=blue]this font glows blue[/glow*] (the color value can be changed to whatever you want.

SHADOW
[shadow=#FFFFFF]brings a drop shadow[/shadow*] (the color here is also changeable...I used a color code in my tag, but I think you can use worded colors too...)

I just put in for your FTP access.. I should hear something back today. Just make sure you make backups when you play around. I know you know that, but I'd be a dope to not say it anyway. :p

I don't know how you do the templates now, but I copy the current version and save it to a text file on my desktop. That's my backup for the templates... :)

It says, 'online' or 'offline' below our avatars. Does this show you online even if you are not at the xchange?

Nope, that indicator is for the forum only :) It's just a replacement for that little button that used to indicate your online status...the one that was to the left of the 'profile' button that you may not have even noticed before...:lol:

One thing I noticed which might need changing....The online/offline...yellowglow doesn't look good, it's all you see, just as well I knew it said 'online'. I'd try for a darker colour. Otherwise........COOL!

Must be your monitor settings or something....it looks perfectly crystal clear from where I'm sitting :)

The Online/Offline Glow actually looks bad on my Monitor as well, could you change it to a more eye friendly color possibly other then yellow? It's a bit too bright and it for my Sensitive eyes, maybe tone down the brightness in the VB Code for the Glow effect. :( I actually wasn't going to mention anything unless anyone else did to spare you my complaining, but since Shei spoke up so shall I :D I don't like it :p

There's no control for brightness...though you could just as easily change that on your monitor....most have a little knob to tone it down if it's too much...

Can't please everyone :rolleyes: But I can change the online color ever so slightly...

I'm not too worried about it, Roem! As long as no-one puts a whole sentence in yellow glow!! :no: :D

PS - I've just noticed that you changed the colour, I can see it now!! :) But I'm not complaining....I'll leave that to Therrall..:D
