That sounds so familiar, but I can not come up with it right now. It is driving me crazy, because I know I have heard it before.

Could it be "Heartbeat Like A Drum" by Exotic Birds? They were a Cleveland band. The drummer eventually joined Stabbing Westward, and became their principal songwriter. Anyway, the song I'm thinking of came out in Cleveland in the 80s, then they got a deal with Alpha International Records and a CD was released in 1990.

A Flock Of Seagulls also have a song by that name, from their final album (as a band, not the newer stuff Mike Score did on GNP) called "Dream Come True" from 1996.

the lyrics are simialr to Caught in the Middle by Juliet Roberts but that was 91 i think
