View Full Version : Seasme Street
Tydestra 5-05-00, 06:23 PM Man, this topic is making feel young! And I'm hungry, anybody got some baby food? The deserts, cause the regualar food sucks, no wonder they spit it up!
Well as the topic goes... my vote for the best 80s show that I can still remember goes to Seasme Street! Big Bird ruled and I still luv Elmo! And the Count too! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/cool.gif

Sal Collaziano 5-05-00, 08:54 PM hehe I think I liked the Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, and Ernie & Bert the best. They were kinda cool. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
And yes. Some of that baby food (desert) is good! I remember always wanting some when my little brother was getting it. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif But the regular food stuff is BAD! hehe

Roemello 5-05-00, 11:37 PM My faves were also the above mentioned. Funny thing is, there were actually people on my street who acted like them...lol. The one I remember most is the mean ass drunken bum that always walked around bitching at everyone....Oscar the Grouch! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I loved Grover and those purple monsters. You can't beat Oscar though can you??!! I still have my Cookie Monster, with only 1 1/2 eyes. I used to feed him peanut butter sandwiches when I was 4 or 5 http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/redface.gif Imagine the mess mum had to clean up then http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Sal Collaziano 5-06-00, 03:28 AM hah. And peanut butter sandwiches.. Oh, boy.. But hey. Did the Count used to say something about them? The sandwiches?
That's funny when you can compare people in your neighborhood to people on Sesame Street. I never thought of that.
My ex-girlfriend used to call me Snufleupagus. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/wink.gif

Sal Collaziano
Roemello 5-06-00, 03:47 AM lol...the Count says how many sandwiches you feed Cookie Monster? one....two....three...lol http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Whoo...nightime wackiness settin' in http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/eek.gif

RetroMan 5-06-00, 09:57 AM Oh, I will never forget that fatefull day back in 1983 when Mr Hooper died. boy did I howl! Who remembers Mr Hooper Hoooooper? it was back in the days when only Big Bird talked to Snuffy and whenever someone else came along, he would shuffle away un-noticed. I used to yell at the screen "you just missed him, he's real!! he's real!! he was just there!!" http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
------------------
Sal Collaziano 5-06-00, 02:56 PM Yeah! I remember those days! That was way back... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

Pindooca 5-06-00, 03:01 PM My son is two and we own a bunch of Sesame videos. It was the Amazing Mumford who used to say "Ala Peanut Butter Sandwiches!"
For an out-loud guffaw, check out this site, that proves once and for all that BERT IS EVIL! (It even implicates him in Mr. Hooper's death!) Enjoy!

Nikki_91 5-07-00, 03:20 AM Well, here's something disturbing then...someone from work downloaded something from that site around Thanksgiving.
It featured all the muppets from Sesame Street ready to eat their meal..and all you see are Big Bird's legs..(He's supposed to be the turkey) They posted that picture around the office..some thought it was funny, some actually got mad and said "That's cruel".

Check ya later-I'm outta here!*Nikki*
Leave me alone you guys! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/frown.gif Very funny. I suppose you guys thought you were clever huh? Hmmmm... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I completely forgot about the Amazing Mumford "Alah peanut butter sandwiches." Ahhhh... Those were the days http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Sal Collaziano 5-08-00, 12:57 AM Oh, and people who get mad a things like that (Big Bird) need to grow a sense of humor...

Hey I still got my rubber ducky! Hehehehehe... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif "A rubber ducky, you're the one, ah rubber ducky you're the one!"

I loved Sesame Street. Oscar, Harry Monster, Snuffy, Big Bird, Slimey, Bert and Ernie, Grover (and the guy always getting the bad waiter in the restaurant -makes noises)
Ernie and Kermit do Not sound the same with Jim Henson gone.
Want to buy a letter M?
A letter M
SHHHH!
Got down to the tan van and ask the man for the letter M.
I'm almost 31 but I still sing 123456789 10 11 12 do do do do
Then there's the nope nope nope/yep yep yep guys that get us going occasionally on hot summer nights with too much beer
and who could forget
phenomena do do dodo do
phenomena do do do do
(okay Zel needs sleep)
I was so sad when Mr. Hooper died and Gordon has some horrible disease and Bob had to take a serious sick leave because after talking to puppets for so many years ....
Sadly my kids never got into Sesame Street they both found it boring (and worse so with Mr Dress- up)
I also have to say I was sad to hear the Friendly Giant died last week what would our childhood have been like without looking way up and also there was Rusty and Jerome http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
Cheers

Sal Collaziano 5-09-00, 01:04 PM Hey wait Who was Bob? He went nuts from talking to puppets? heh Sounds like Sesame Street is a good show to watch when you're no all there! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/wink.gif
Ahh, Roemello. You never know what could happen if you blast that rubber duck song. You might wanna try it and see. hehe I wonder what kind of looks you'd get. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/eek.gif

Tydestra 5-09-00, 02:16 PM Ha, well Rome, hehehehe.... people will be thinking who let you out of the Nut House, I get that look all the time! Actually I kinda made a mix of the rubber ducky song. Its has some Poison's "Talk Dirty To Me" and Motley Crue's "Looks That Kill" and I actually played it in the Village once, man did I ever got some strange looks! Even the cops were looking at me funny! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/cool.gif
