The Erie Otters just won the championship of the Ontario Hockey League!!! The first time since the Golden Blades did it in 1983 for the ACHL championship, that an Erie hockey team has gone all the way. The next stop, the Memorial cup held in Guelph! Look for the name Boyes to be in the NHL soon!!!

I know most of you don't care  but I love this city and am very excited about this :)

Glad to see they did better than the PANTHERS ever did, even if the PANTHERS had one of the old goalies from the Hampton Roads Admirals (Mark Benard). CONGRATS!

Look for the name Boyes wearing blue & white :)

As a Maple Leaf prospect we all follow his career in T.O. Deej. He was great at the World Juniors playing for Canada too.

Looks like he's gonna be a good one.

Congrats to Erie

Hey Bogie,
wasn't Toronto the #1 seed in the OHL playoffs? What happened? Did Windsor beat them? Or was it Barrie? I forget which division they were in.

Toronto (St. Mike's) plays in the Eastern Conference Deej. Beat North Bay in the first round. Four games straight. Beat Ottawa 4 games to 3 in second round. Swept in third round by Barrie. :(

Memorial Cup is in Guelph this year. Not too far over the U.S. border. You going to see Erie play Deej?

I wish but with the new job and all, not likely. I will however keep a close eye on the games to report them to my audience.

BTW Boyes was named OHL playoffs MVP!!

Congrats to the Otters & to daffy!

Someone tell me, exactly how does the Memorial Cup Tourney work? Does the host team get an automatic bid?

The host team does get an automatic bid. Then the three champion teams (OHL, and two other minor leagues) play a round Robin type thing....I'm not very good at explaining, ask Bogie LOL

The other two leaques are the WHL (Western Hockey League) and QHML (Quebec Major Hockey League) The league my Moncton Wildcats came last.

So they take the league champs from each or the 3 Canadian Junior Hockey Leagues, throw in the host city and voila you have the memorial cup, I'm hoping for Victoriaville Tigres as they beat my Acadie-Bathurst Titan's in the QHML finals to advance
