View Full Version : Combining video games
If you could choose any two games to combine (unfortunately, not very realistic right now:p) what would they be, what elements would they involve, and what would the end result be? Feel free to combine from any console/PC games.
Mine would be Duke Nukem and Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64.
The elements: All sets of weapons from each game would be used. The characters would be Duke Nukem; and from Conker's the weasels, the weasel henchman, and the squirrel. The setting would be The Vault and the game called The Heist (both Conker's settings).
The result: A Multi-Player, foul-mouthed shooting match where the objective is to take the money bag from the center of the vault and take it to your respective safe while avoiding getting blown to bits and adding foul-mouthed insult to injury:D The person who collects the most bags (not kills!:D ) becomes the henchman's top man. The others,...well... let's just say their ending takes a different twist;) In case of a tie (no. of bags collected) the next number looked at is no. of kills.
BTW Conker's already makes up most of the result. Adding Duke Nukem and his arsenal of weapons ( both sets interchangable), etc. would make the game just that much more interesting;)

I wanna see ISS and Champinship Manager combined....All the details, depth, complexity from CM combined with the graphics, gameplay, feel and atmosphere from ISS
I'd quit my job and never ever leave my apt again....well not untill CM/ISS 2 were released :D
Conker and Duke Nukem would be a trip. I'm still waiting for that sqiurrel to make a comeback.
How about crossing Resident Evil with Golden Eye. I know "They Hunger" is similar, but it just doesn't go as far graphically and story wise as I would like it to. A really good (and scary) first person horror game. That's what I'm after.

That would definitely be interesting to see...a mystery-horror game (unless I'm confusing this with Diablo; don't play a lot of PC games) combined with the undercover skills of James Bond. It would be a riot to see some of the undercover weapons Bond possess utilized in the game. The question is, who would be more dangerous with the weapons, Bond, or the zombies? In Bond's possession, the zombies wouldn't know what them. Then again, in the zombies hands, they wouldn't know what hit them either since they have no idea what it is they're actually holding!
BTW thought of two more games to combine: SSBM and WWF Wrestling, each player with their own moves, taunts, and weapons, (that includes chairs, stop signs, staircases, etc.:D ) getting it kicked SSB style;)
Polar Bear Jeff 5-10-02, 04:25 AM Since I love action platform games, I would combine the GBA's Castlevania: Circle of the Moon with Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris.

I have Castlevania CotM. That is a great game to play. Have you beat it yet? Once you beat it the first time, you are given a password to enter the next time you play. It's a lot harder the second time around, as your strength is less but you now possess all of the cards. Definitely interesting combining the two magical elements of Castlevania and Scorpion King:thumb:
Max Payne and the characters from the Mario games. I would love to slaugther Lugi and Mario. Maybe I have issues with Italian plumbers?!?!

Yes, I've completed the game, but only the first time; I have yet to retry it in the more difficult mode.
Very addictive game. :thumb:
NBA Jam and Super Mario Bros.
I always thought it would be cool to have a platform game where you attack guys with basketballs. If I recall there was one where you attacked them with baseballs.
80sSmurf 5-24-02, 02:59 PM Don't remember the baseball one D-Boy, sorry .... But I do remember Soccer Kid on the Amiga .... Yup, you guessed it, a platformer where you attack baddies with a soccer (it's called football dag nabbit ;) :D ) ball. Actually you also use said ball to collect items, jump high etc. ... Great game :thumb:
Awright Roem I'll get back on topic ;)
Doesn't most RPGs combine several gamegenres. Yes the actual adventure and controlling the main character(s) is the whole essense of a RPG, but it seems to me RPGs always manage to include (sometimes) great sub-games. Besides the obvious one; fighting, they can also include some sort of racer, puzzles, platformers etc. The FF series is a great example of this .... Admitted the subgames may not be ground breaking or be able to make it as a stand alone game, but still, it's a combo, and often a great one if ya ask me :p

Dude! That would be hilarious. Mario with Bullet-time.
80sSmurf: I think it was a japanese only release. It might have been something like Doki Doki Yuuenichi but I forget.
80sSmurf 5-25-02, 07:03 AM I'll look into it, but ... erh ..... What system D-Boy .... SNES ? NES ???
Nevermind, yeah it was a NES game and the chars looks kinda like they're wearing baseball helmets but they look more like they're kicking baseball shaped objects at the guys.
Hoever there is monster party where Bert (a monster) tells Mark has to go to the monster planet to help save them because he has "the weapon" (which is a little league baseball bat).

Golden Sun for the GameBoy Advance is a good example of this.
Lots of adventure, fighting and many puzzles to solve. :thumb:

No better way than to slam dunk the competition :D Though I prefer the tomahawk dunk myself ;)

It looks like they're going to come out with Soccer Kid for the Game Boy Advance (sometime hopefully, at least it's mentioned). Sounds like the object is to knock out baddies in order to pick up pieces of the World Cup.

Well, there was Michael Jordan's "Chaos in the Windy City" for the SNES - I know you had a basketball but I can't even remember if you attacked anything with it besides power-up containers.... I must have succeeded in erasing the game from my mind. *shudder*
